Absolute tosh.
All new developments need sage, segregated walking and wheeling routes.
Developers should provide no less!

My kids absolutely adore climbing on that thing whenever we go to the cinema π
A mock-up map of the Glasgow Crossrail proposal, now absorbed into the Clyde Metro proposal. Lots of proposals...
The closure of Glasgow Central station is exposing the public transport network's lack of resilience.
At the very minimum, there should be overground stations at West Street and Glasgow Cross, to allow folks to transfer to the Subway and lower-level lines.
We've been talking about this since 2008.
Healthcare which I received when I was 17 is now banned by Wes Streeting and the NHS.
Denying trans youth the healthcare they need is barbaric.
Itβs a campaigning-free weekend for me, but tomorrow Iβll be going to the Green Party G&D celebration party. π₯³
The chorus of Spooky Scary Skeletons is a repeated Neapolitan 6th>5>1 β¦ which means I can now remember what a Neapolitan is.
Need to complete the set now. Can anyone think of songs with German, Italian or French 6ths.

Recently, shameless politicians have been attacking the Greensβ stance on drugs. Having lost a family member to drug abuse, it is clear to me that we need to adopt sensible policies that will help mitigate the destructive impact that drugs have on the lives of vulnerable people.
Thatβs utterly unequivocal. Excellent.
I visit Montpellier quite frequently and it has been really nice to see this all progressing.
There has been speculation in the air about this one for a while⦠can we schedule it in for July perhaps?
A clarification that this article is incorrect
The existing infrastructure built last year on Oldham Road will stay, including the CYCLOPS
This scheme is building on that work to expand the cycle route into the city centre

Drivers: Drivers are extremely safe and law-abiding at all times even though the speed limit is far too low and they could be trusted to travel at the speed of sound, especially at night.
Also drivers: You were riding a BIKE? On a ROAD? Are you trying to make me KILL you?
I actually did all the above today. It was necessary.
I am fortunate enough to work a 4 day week. Given my work days are *hectic and full* itβs so good to get to Wednesday, close the work laptop, and switch modes to do all the other things: housework, activism, bike rides, music, or just sitting in my pants screaming at how fucked up the world is.
Watch π as drivers mount the pavement where a young mother pushes a baby, 20 metres from a primary school. This is normal in Birmingham. Itβs the kind of behaviour which led to plans for an LTN in this area, which have now been abandoned by the Council after 6 years of development.
The Daily Mail has said it obtained "internal documents" revealing the Green Party's migration policy.
As a long-term Green Party activist, I'm very familiar with the actual policy. And what the Mail describes and what the document says are two very different things.
A thread π§΅
You'll note she only mentions *working* people.
Rach, you didn't copy the bit where @greenpartyhan.bsky.social said that those who aren't able to work deserve a nice life, too.
Iβve not seen the point of an update until recently - but itβs starting to feel sluggish. Also my amp/tv/projector are all 1080p and I know if I go there it will start getting obsessive and spendy.
Overall very happy with it though. Have the Infuse app for streaming from the NAS which is flawless.
Boo. Iβm still rocking a dev preview one. From 2015. Was hoping for an update.
Thatβs a horrible load of angles and some very poor tactile placement by the look of it.
The technology isnβt going away, you canβt ban maths, but we can (and must) regulate how tech companies behave.
Meanwhile generative AI and Large Language Models are indeed not so smart. Mostly when people think they are magic or accurate. They are poisoning our information ecosystem, burning energy, amplifying biases, devaluing work, and generally grinding us all up for big-tech capitalism.
Models for wildlife classification/tracking are hugely valuable for monitoring biodiversity and anthropogenic change. Thatβs absolutely good stuff - when done well, with good training data. My friend @danstowell.bsky.social is at the forefront of just that and worth checking out.
A little nuance - that there are two slightly different things here: The use of machine learning for nature recognition/classification and the generative large language models for mass consumption/exploitation.
Fuck you I wonβt print what you tell me! π
It does like to have a wobbly about off-brand toner sometimes, and it didnβt like some of the paper stock, but thatβs printers. Youβve got to sweet-talk them into submission. π€·ββοΈ
A mid-size OKI laser printer. It is stacked on a second paper tray unit and coasters. Beside it is a box of 2500 sheets of A4 with a bright pink lid. It is tucked into a set of basic ikea wooden shelving.
In unsung election campaigning stories, this laser printer has done 11,544 sheets of paper over the course of the Gorton And Denton by-election for @greenparty.org.uk
And it has been _mostly_ fine.
So Iβve bought it an additional paper tray, as a treat, because the local elections are coming. π
RoadPeace, the charity supporting people affected by road crashes, is no longer operating.
I asked the Mayor how he will step in to make sure survivors and bereaved families can still get the peer to peer help they need, support that RoadPeace used to provide.
