The closure of Glasgow Central station is exposing the public transport network's lack of resilience.
At the very minimum, there should be overground stations at West Street and Glasgow Cross, to allow folks to transfer to the Subway and lower-level lines.

Recently, shameless politicians have been attacking the Greens’ stance on drugs. Having lost a family member to drug abuse, it is clear to me that we need to adopt sensible policies that will help mitigate the destructive impact that drugs have on the lives of vulnerable people.

I’ve not seen the point of an update until recently - but it’s starting to feel sluggish. Also my amp/tv/projector are all 1080p and I know if I go there it will start getting obsessive and spendy.

The technology isn’t going away, you can’t ban maths, but we can (and must) regulate how tech companies behave.
Meanwhile generative AI and Large Language Models are indeed not so smart. Mostly when people think they are magic or accurate. They are poisoning our information ecosystem, burning energy, amplifying biases, devaluing work, and generally grinding us all up for big-tech capitalism.
Models for wildlife classification/tracking are hugely valuable for monitoring biodiversity and anthropogenic change. That’s absolutely good stuff - when done well, with good training data. My friend @danstowell.bsky.social is at the forefront of just that and worth checking out.
A little nuance - that there are two slightly different things here: The use of machine learning for nature recognition/classification and the generative large language models for mass consumption/exploitation.
