If you are tracking vessels in the Middle East on AIS, then pay close attention by zooming in. You may spot clusters of vessels appearing to be on top of one another. This is a result of GPS manipulation intended to misdirect inbound GPS-guided weapons.

Over the past year, Iran has exported 1.65Mbpd of crude oil.
Today, they are loading 8 million barrels at Kharg Island. If they don't, then there is a risk that the storage tanks on shore will hit capacity and the country will have to wind down its oil production the way Iraq recently announced.
The heavily sanctioned #LNG tanker ARCTIC METAGAZ (9243148) has now been located in today's (2026-03-04) satellite imagery at 34.61314, 17.02701, which is 140nm ESE of Malta. The image on the left is what she used to look like before she blew up yesterday.

Crude oil exports from the Gulf region are up 9% month-on-month, but most of that came from just the past week, where we saw a 25% boost.

Iran's crude oil exports have rapidly increased this month while Kharg Island's crude oil inventories have slid from recent highs. This specific combination prepares Iran for days of zero loadings at the oil terminal in case of renewed air strikes.

Malaysia released both vessels and the oil the following day. The STS was completed, so the receiver now has the two million barrels. The feeder, which showed up with a fake flag, is heading back to Iran.

We believe she was underway to Syria like back in May 2025; where she delivered Russian medium sour crude oil from the Black Sea. This time however, she was carrying the more preferred light sweet crude oil from Russia's Arctic region.

To add some color to today's interdiction of GRINCH (9288851) by the French Navy, this tanker was placed under numerous sanctions over the past year. As such, her movements north of the Suez Canal are extremely limited.
