Frizzell told us he wouldn't have thought to pitch the piece without the encouragement at the workshop. And that's exactly why we host these trainings. They’re a place for scholars to get hands-on feedback and start working on pieces to pitch.
At a recent SSN op-ed writing workshop for our LA chapter, PhD student Brendan Frizzell (@dornsife.usc.edu) used the opportunity to develop an idea for a pitch about reggaeton's origins in response to the Bad Bunny Super Bowl show. Two weeks later, his piece was published in @theconversation.com.
