Tottenham v Newcastle: What has happened to Nick Woltemade? After an impressive start to life at Newcastle, what has happened to Nick Woltemade?

β€œWhy have the goals dried up for the Germany forward?”

The BBC know what they’re doing writing this article right before a Newcastle visit to Dr Tottenham…

Sadly a few print issues with this layer which means I’m not entirely happy with it. Came out a bit patchy – may have been too much paint. Will try and salvage some tomorrow…

Sounds interesting. Might be one to check out when I’m less saturated with hobbies!

Second layer done! A few prints lost to misalignment along the way – seems my cheap 3D-printed paper registration method didn’t quite cut it…

I’ve not, no, and I admit I don’t know much about it. Have you?

It didn’t feel like that when the first three attempts came out weirdly blotchy. But things improved after that!

First layer of what might end up being an overly ambitious reduction print. I’ve made ten to start with in the hope that I end up with one or two decent ones!

I think linotype is a genuine thing, though!

I did a linocut workshop last weekend and it was super helpful, hope yours is just as good.

You’ll have to excuse my ignorance for not knowing the exact difference between linocut and linotype – I’m guessing linotype is more text-focused?

It’s very satisfying peeling the print off! Have you tried it too?

Some more linocut experimentation yesterday evening. Still keeping stuff relatively simple while I play around – might need some better rollers based on the slight patchiness on this one!

Thanks! Would have liked to have had a bit more noise/chatter around the central design but I was worried about it being too noisy, so ended up going too far the other way

The results of my first attempt at linocut printing today. Pretty pleased with how these turned out!

I had the exact same with a student years ago with copper sulfate crystals. I delighted in reading them the MSDS (β€œconvulsions, paralysis and coma”)

I’d guess dependent on student age as well, the students I taught who tried it were between 13-16 years old which I feel is probably the peak age for making decisions without considering the consequences

13.01.2026 10:55 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Could be! Although kids eating copper sulfate definitely predates the appearance of TikTok, which only just existed towards the tail end of my teaching career.

Warning over students ingesting copper sulphate DfE issues health alert after a helpline supporting safe science practical work warns of students β€˜deliberately’ consuming the chemical compound

A colleague just incredulously emailed me this article and I, completely unsurprised, noted that while teaching I had at least two students try to eat copper sulfate crystals. Something about those blue crystals is clearly too alluring!
