Have been interested in the Durkheim / Tarde movements for ages. I tend to see functionalism as an altogether useful thing but its a complex thing.
Durkheim doomed us all. Even qualitative work has become extremely formulaic lately.
Might need some new methods after a few hundred years.

This is what’s bothered me about the uncanny valley. It is a reflection of our inability to understand ourselves in the tools we make and yet we hoist that onto polygons and other tools rather than to dig deeper into ourselves and our world.
