Thrilled to finally be able to share that the Caveney lab has been awarded its first CIHR Project grant. 🥳 The last year and a bit since starting the lab has been a complete whirlwind, but successes like this make it all worth it!

After a 23.5% across the board budget reduction too. If only there were a giant pool of recent money that could have supported this call… 😪

13.5% is the last success rate at CIRH. The government is slowly tanking the Canadian research system.

New preprint from the Robertson Lab! We used AF ensemble generation for rigidity filtering with generative design to make cryoEM fiducials, enabling rapid inactive states of four drug targets and a beta2 extracellular fiducial to study GPCR activation!

I feel some responsibility, as we develop the software. But helical reconstruction is prone to getting stuck in local minima, and unfortunately still requires a lot of self-criticism. The most important one: if you don't see expected features in the map, don't trust it!
