Single of the week: Lady Lazarus – ‘PARTY!’ Lady Lazarus – the Berlin-based international riot grrrls via Sydney, LA and London – just dropped new single 'PARTY!', and it’s a blast of chaotic joy with a darker pulse beating underneath. Recorded in a converted underground WWII bunker on the outskirts of Berlin (because of course it was), the track captures the exact moment when everything in your head and everything in the world feels a bit too much – and the only rational response is to turn the music up and dance through it.

Album of the month: Surfbort come back swinging with new album Reality Star It took the irreverent Brooklyn band Surfbort almost five years to release a follow-up to their last record, but Reality Star makes the wait seem worth it. Their third album arrives fully formed and unapologetic: a contemporary punk collage built from chaos, where small emotional confessions are hidden inside absurdist jokes, sharp cultural references and an almost reckless sense of fun. Rather than describing the world, these songs react to it, a crucial distinction that gives the album its restless, kinetic energy.

LOUD WOMEN is heading to Kingston-upon-Thames, the home of heavy music, for a ferocious International Women’s Day celebration at The Fighting Cocks on Friday 7 March.

Skate, shred, repeat: free all-ages Femme/Them live music + skate jam in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (15 March) On Sunday 15 March (3pm–9pm), the indoor skate park at The Hub (36 Fielding Ave, Dartmouth NS, Canada) transforms into a free, all-ages live show and skateboarding hangout designed as a safe, judgement-free space — especially for women, femmes, non-binary and queer folk. Whether you’re landing tricks or learning to stand on the board, this one’s about community, connection and having a go. The day is being organised by our dear friend Loviet, who tore it up at last year’s LOUD WOMEN Fest Halifax in Nova Scotia — and clearly hasn’t stopped building brilliant things since. (Speaking of which… keep your eyes peeled for more LOUD WOMEN action in Canada later this year.)
