A line sketch on pink paper of a man lying over a wedge-shaped pillow.
2. A drawing of me by @bearpadart.bsky.social from when folx used to gather at Eros on Market Street and pose for one another for figure drawing.
A creature with feathers on their head and multicolor pig tails. Their nose is pierced with a bull ring and they’re wearing a tank too with an icon of three downward-pointing arrows and gloves. They’re standing in front of a triangle with a pink cactus above their head. Cacti and other desert plants surround the triangle along with the words QUEER REBEL.
Framed some queer art today, so feeling compelled to share in hopes that it brings folx a bit of relief from the unending barrage of horrible news.
1. “Mutant Runway” by Ronoldi Valencia which I bought at Rosebud Gallery with funds from the sale of my piece Pink Planet.

Kidnof random, but I’m studying the Arabic alphabet with my Sufi teacher and it is weird to be able to read their names.
I was remiss in tracing my reading last year, so my 2025 review is tardy.
It feels absurd to post with Minneapolis under siege, but I often find comfort and safety in the pages of a good book.
May my list benefit someone who needs it.

Charles with eyes wide holding aloft his copy of The Week of Colors, the cover of which appears to be brightly colored rectangles on a black ground that seem to represent somewhat psychedelic abstract doorways.
OMGYG! Book mail from @twolinespress.com :
The Week of Colors by Elena Garro (trans Megan McDowell)
An image of a figure free falling onto the middle of concentric squares resembling converging staircases. Text reads, “The Staircase available on Club Chicxulub.”

"Union Minister of State Suresh Gopi on Saturday said that he is prepared to resign from his ministerial post for two days to lead a protest in support of the transgender community if the Pinarayi Vijayan government fails to deliver on its promise of financial assistance." [Free Press Journal]
Charles holding a copy of What a Fish Looks Like which has a gorgeous illustration of a mermaid embracing a fish with legs.

As someone who identifies as an old fruit, I can attest that there is, indeed, some sagging involved.
A marker drawing of a blue boxer dog with purple for the mask and shadows. The dog is curled next to a pillow on a sofa. There are lots of lines and patterns. A pop art type of style.
I felt compelled to draw my dog…
Congrats @alvinlu.bsky.social !
Everyone else, get thee to the Bama Bookshop: www.uapress.ua.edu/978157366212...
Two dogs, a large chihuahua mix and a boxer mix, stand beneath a gnarled California oak next to the dusty fire road.
I feel like my feed could use a little « rescue dogs of Marin County » love…
Should be at least one more now 😜

Dear @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social , it’s ages later now, but I loved The Forgetters! I gifted Becoming Story, but will need to borrow it back or pick up my own copy. Grateful for the suggestions!
Tell me your pet's name with a GIF.
Charles reading Greg Sarris’s collection of stories in a park. The book cover shows two crows in silhouette. One speaks “stories” to the other’s ear.
On this last day of short story month, and gay pride month eve, I read “A Man Learns to Smell Flowers” in Greg Sarris’s amazing collection “the forgetters!” The whole collection is a testament to the power of storytelling. Read this book!
Groovy!

A horned & cloven hoofed demon sprints through a wall flames with arms held wide as if to say « Welcome to the future. » They’re decked out in what appears to be 1970s/80s gym attire with a ringer tee and contrast piping shorts. It’s unclear if their gut or boobs are hanging over their waist.

Tis. Tis the reason🤦♂️
A horned bunny demon with a fluffy floof at the end of their long tail instead of a barb. They’re holding a sign that says: EAT CHOCOLATE EGGS.
This the reason for the season.
Time for Newsom’s “dishonorable discharge.”
The hands are seriously giving “built to strangle” vibes. Like you turn it on and it won’t stop insisting on giving a “neck massage.”

Today’s demon is so cute that I have to share.
