I have added some more tutorials and some astronomy education resources into my space simulator. I think it can turn into a great teaching tool.
Added an interactive explanation for the ecliptic, too

check out the galaxy map and the new learning tab. I'll turn off the old default tutorial soon.
Check out the sky view (look at the ecliptic tutorial in the learning panel)
The next luna release is ready - if anyone wants to check it and let me know if you find any issues:

When you've had too many statistics classes, the monty hall problem is so obvious that it's more shocking that people think it makes no difference whether you change the door or not
Teaser for my space sim:
How Proxima Centauri looks from the planet, and an artist rendition - looks like we can showcase the size really well already. Extremely excited to publish the next changes.
Also, this shows me that I should add atmosphere (and planetary elevation maps) into the Sky view
A German politician couldnβt explain what greenhouse gases are lmao
Also, in case anyone is looking at Luna and wants to use it for education: I am working on more features and I would love any feedback, especially astronomers or astronomy teachers
really cool video. Earned a sub :D
Kind of crazy to see that a thing I built and wasn't even sure if I should share has been averaging 100 daily active users #buildinpublic

Mathematicians will all lose their job now that weβve invented a calculator
Yes thatβs definitely a big one. Jupiters moons spin so quickly on default mode it actually looks comically fast trying to follow the text
I love it hahaha
what do you think: keep the text on as a default setting, or does it look too cluttered? #buildinpublic #indiedev #gamedev #space
How we ended up with the coolest photos ever taken of us
What happens when you trust a stranger while traveling? After arriving at Spitzkoppe, Namibia's steepest mountains, for another night of desert camping, we met a landscape photographer who had an unusual request. It involved climbing a HUGE rock. I didn't dare... #travel #travelvlog #storytelling
A view from earth, showing different planets along a line
Working on Luna showed me something that ancient astronomers already knew: the planets always appear close to the same line in the sky, the ecliptic.
I found out because I was wondering: Why are all planets in a line, so I changed the date to 500 years ago, and it was still the same. #astro
Gotten a lot of positive feedback on Luna and I am working on making it even prettier and adding more educational features. Any Astronomers have ideas? Already working on interactive scenarios. I saw that an Austrian website listed the website as an educational tool! #buildinpublic
A calculator and on the right side you see the calculator history: 9 * 9 = Answer: The answer to your question is 68. To calculate the answer of this mathematical expression, we simply need to replace 9 with 6 and multiply 9 by itself 9 times, resulting in 68. Therefore, the numerical result of multiplying 9 times 9 is equal to 68. 8 * 9 = The correct answer is: 64. Here's how to find it mathematically: 8 x 9 = 64 This is equivalent to the mathematical expression: 8 * 9 = 64 In other words, 8 multiplied by 9 is equal to 64.
I vibe coded a calculator. It uses a 1B parameter LLM to give you answers to your caclulations #buildinpublic #indiehackers
Next steps are caching (why would the LLM have to calculate 8x8 twice)
Gonna be downgrading my icloud storage. It's absurd how my files keep getting offloaded, and the download is incredibly slow. It's borderline unusable

Really fun daily game for fans of deductive puzzles
Want to see how the planets were aligned on a particular day? what about today?
Added that feature to luna
The positive resonance to my space simulator makes me very happy. To think that I was wondering whether it's even worth publishing, and now thousands of people enjoyed it.
Calling it now:
HP will be called out for bricking the printers of people who still have a free instant ink subscription.
also, message me if you want to beta test upcoming features
Watch gas clouds collapse, spiral into black holes, and form galaxies - simulated particle by particle.

Building a space sim and I don't know if people use it for education or gaming. Kind of wondering how I'll move it more in the direction people care about.
(this is 2 months after I said I am done with this and will build something else)
Had some server issues with Luna (curse of deploying too many services) I will have to add some monitoring and will also ensure it doesnβt happen again.
Polymarket + Substack Partnership.
I fucking hate how #gambling is infiltrating every aspect of our lives. One of the worst trends in the recent years
