Yoshi's Island meets DIDDY KONG RACING!!

I mean you could always soft reset. It's just a lot more intentional on a GBA where you have to do a claw grip, than on a Switch, where you can do it with one thumb on accident.
So this sucks ass.
In Switch FRLG, they put Start on X and Select on Y. That's great!
But it means if you idly fidget into hitting all four face buttons at once, you SOFT RESET THE GAME. No way to disable it.
I'm lucky I only lost an hour of progress...
I don't have room to include the Advance 1 variations of the characters, and I'd consider everything after that to be different enough to not be comparable, but Advance Sonic would go above Ray, Advance Tails & Knuckles aren't different enough to change, and Advance Amy is above Superstars Knux.
Sonic (drop dash) > Sonic (insta shield) > Knuckles (S3K) > Tails (Superstars) > Amy (Origins) > Amy (Superstars) > Mighty (Chaotix) > Espio > Ray > Knuckles (KiS2/Mania) > Tails (S3K/Mania) > Knuckles (Superstars) > Vector > Knuckles (Chaotix) > Charmy > Mighty (Mania) > Bomb > Heavy
Yes.
But okay, what am I supposed to be comparing about them? :V
Gens is my favorite game ever made!
S3&K is the one I'd pick if I absolutely had to make an argument for which game is *the best ever*.
It really is a two cakes situation from my view.
"SHIT"

So there's a collection of Eggman PA announcements and one of them was a reference to Crazy Taxi and this specific car belongs to Axel, NOT B.D. Joe

We're finally talking about The Twilight Zone proper. Behold the action packed moments like a man getting stuck in a phone booth, or a man running into a mirror.

I didn't like BT1 that much, but I played a *ton* of 3...
On the Wii. :D It was hilarious because my PS2 friends could not adapt to the GameCube controller at all, whereas it felt totally natural to me.
The Conker's Bad Fur Day title screen, with the logo appearing over Conker sitting on the throne in the former Panther King's throne room, surrounded by several of the weirdos from the game. Screenshot from Conker's Bad Fur Day.
Today, Conker's Bad Fur Day turns 25!
It's easy to take for granted if all you've ever known is BFD being the "naughty" game with diarrhea and piss, but having followed it since E3 1997 (as Conker's Quest) and the character's debut in Diddy Kong Racing, it's still surreal that this even happened...
Anyway, Robotnik's verse is definitely better.
...and I modded in US Metallic Madness over Act 1 a long time ago. And did the same with Stardust Speedway Act 2! I like when they have equal rep. (Using JP for Metal's fight in Mania & US for Forces was awesome!)
Like my father and to use his terminology, I am afflicted with "chronic lyricosis," meaning I can't understand a word, and have only just now learned that it's a rap battle between Sonic & Robotnik.
Ohh, I see, Sonic's verse is Act 1, Robotnik's is Act 2, that's neat!
...or I played them for an hour 20 years ago and wasn't feeling it (Jak, Okami), so I can't rank 'em.
So my PS2 list *is* pretty anemic! I loved some of the games, but I disliked the controller & the console always felt kind of clunky & grainy compared to GCN, so I didn't really enjoy using it.
So I meant this as a joke, obviously. I was about to hit the hay and didn't have the wherewithal for such an undertaking...
but actually...
Most PS2 games I either played on GCN/Wii instead (THPS, Guitar Hero, Spider-Man 2, DBZ3)....
So mad that in Pokopia my wife's vespiquen gave her a 'luxury bed' but on my file vespiquen gave me a 'gamer bed'.
Well, the PS2 doesn't have any good games, so it's actually much easier than you think. The best PS2 game is The Matrix on DVD.
It does at least have *some* games, though, so it's still well ahead of most of its successors.
(she was probably jealous of how much time I was spending with Smugleaf)
That weekend, my buds and I had a hang-out sesh that was supposed to feature our usual chicanery, but instead a bunch of early 20s college dudes just...
Stayed in and played PokΓ©mon
Until 4:30 in the morning
And it was the *best*.
Then me and my girlfriend broke up the next morning (positive)!

I'm tired, I'm sore, I haven't slept enough in three days and haven't felt good about anything that's happening since November 2024, but my arms are pretty big so I've got that going for me!
It's rather strange when weirdos online try to align someone's subjective enjoyment with a piece of media to blind corporate loyalty. Some folks just enjoy a thing and it's no deeper than that. Wanting to attack and mislabel others just because of your disillusionment and cynicism is very pathetic.
-BW2's difficulty options being locked & gated was the most bone-headed thing they've ever done
-Let's Go has the best graphics/aesthetic of any mainline game. Sword & Shield often look really nice, too!
-Shinies are cool & all, but the time investment to get one is just never worth it to me
More:
-Dexit was both okay and inevitable. All the outrage about it echoed exactly what I remembered from when Ruby & Sapphire came out; "modern" PokΓ©mon is always bad in the eyes of lots of online fans!
-Every gen's new mons feature plenty of bangers, there's never been a downturn in creativity
I'm sure both bubble and elephant were damaged by me just not being very big on Wonder, but them's the breaks.
> Mario power up tier list
To make this easier, I only included permanent power-ups (that is, you only lose them when you take damage) in the 2D games.
also tsk tsk you didn't ask for me to put it "in the chat"
Yeah, probably! I'm not @tamahero.bsky.social - Stadium was WAY too hard & complicated for me as a kid, so most of my time with it went into playing it with friends (especially the minigames) - but I'd definitely trust her judgment on this!
Gotta commit to beating it one'a these days~!
Well of course! It has Radical Highway, the best Sonic level! Oh man, can you imagine if they made one where MOST OF THE GAME was Radical Highway?
-The actual worst thing about modern PokΓ©mon is trying to force WAY too much of its own story on top of what is supposed to be YOUR story
-As someone whose literal first ship was AAML (we didn't even call it PokΓ©Shipping), Ash x Serena does make more sense
-I need a Legends Kanto set in the 1980s
-EXP Share is a boon, and it's hard to go back to games without it
-Gen I deserves the glaze and I'm glad it gets as much rep as it does
-Brilliant Diamond is the epitome of "pretty great when you don't have someone screaming in your ear about how much it sucks" - the Sonic Superstars of the series!
