Just learning today that the guy who founded an online crypto casino is named Craven and I think Iβm done with the lazy writing, God.
Hard to say if I like this more for the live cross-app interaction as a practice or for showing the beauty of color spaces, either way I π
As in games, so in apps

So much of health grifting is just Pascalβs Wager for your body.
Also I learned that this storm 138 years ago was responsible for igniting public debate around burying public services underground for storm resiliency, which led to both the creation of the subway stop in my picture and to my neighborhood having underground utilities!
When I took the photo I was a little surprised how much smaller the snowdrifts from today were, but then I looked it up and learned that the Great White Hurricane dumped anywhere from 10 to *58* inches of snow in places. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_B...
I stumbled upon this wonderful @bklynlibrary.bsky.social collection of images earlier this winter while I was researching Brooklyn streetcar history brooklynhistory.pastperfectonline.com/photo/70778E...
Slide image by Adrian Vanderveer Martense from Center For Brooklyn History, showing a horse-drawn carriage on the corner of Clinton and Fulton, with huge snow drifts on either side.
My photo from today from what I believe is the same vantage, looking southbound down Clinton from the NE corner of Clinton x Fulton. Large, though notably smaller, snowdrifts adorn the corners of the frozen street.
Great Blizzard of 1888 vs Blizzard of 2026. Clinton & Fulton, Brooklyn.
Iβve had Mindstorms on my mind the last couple weeks, meaning to re-read it soon
This is an achievable goal and I wonβt stop until it happens
Oh yay you're coming in again! I think @ecalifornica.bsky.social and I are gonna look into building atproto labelers together, so this is all very kismet.
We've been building this application so messily, but in our defense we didn't know what we were building at the start. I am so excited for the work of these next couple months to finally bear fruit. I think we'll have a proper constraint-based sketch system, an extension system, and more.
1. This is very cool, I think I'm starting to catch on
2. I don't think I've ever seen val.town in your posts before, which is also sick. I go to their office every Saturday morning, good people β€οΈ
Screenshot snipper from my Spotify feed for a single called "You" by someone named "Spencer Murphs". It's listed as "Getting buzz" with "Sponsored recommendation" in small text underneath. It has absolutely atrocious, suspiciously tasteless album art...
Looking at "Spencer Murphs" discography I see 3 singles: "You", "Rev Up The Engine", and "Pacific Highway". All with similar but otherwise thoughtless and tasteless album art...
Googling around for "Spencer Murphs" surfaced someone named "Spencer Murphy" that was a bassist, but no one who went by this name, other than @spencer.murphs on Instagram whose profile is dedicated to these 3 singles so far. This screenshot shows a Reel from their profile of a AI generated video of a bear in a beanie and a flannel surfing, in the style of Studio Ghibli, with "Spencer Murphs" song "Rev Up The Engine" playing. The bear is joined by a femme-coded bear, also surfing, later in the Reel. The Reel has 5 comments, all deleted.
The profile has some nondescript, vaguely musician-related images as well. This screenshot shows an image of a guitar pedal, posted without any caption or context. A clear bot account named @raphopday comments on the image with "THIS IS fire π₯ send". Just a couple bots cruising the interwebs together. I hate it here.
Having a real "dead internet" day
Big bad implications of thinking about culture as something that can only be preserved, not created.
I think this is a cool way to honor your past self: youtu.be/ojSmc7s1rgU?...
Make it dead simple for businesses to register and submit their business and products, by like texting a service. Someone told me today their clients "don't even like touching Shopify, it scares them."
#atproto idea I'm toying around with: lexicons for shops, goods, and services. A moderation labeler to verify they meet certain criteria, like "made in NYC". Feed records into an e-commerce experience. Give keys to moderation to the Zohran admin or an NGO, they give grant $$ for local delivery, etc
This is important.
Now Iβll quote repost to add my framing or cheer something on with a pulled quote all day, that is a gesture with some meaning you know?
Good video, but probably telling you about your lived experience www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or1_.... It had never clicked with me that elevators are like this huge private sector of urban transit, run completely ad hoc.
I'd like to request that Vancouver, WA change its name please, v confusing
Iβm not mad. Donβt put it in your niche auto-generated user pack that I got mad.
