Julius Schwartz, before becoming the editor for DC Comics, took inspirations from clubzines to make The Time Traveller - a fan magazine dedicated to reviews, fan news, fan written opinion pieces, fan fiction, fan written stories and art, creating the template that would inspire many fanzines.
These early fans found different methods for printing their fanzines, with mimeograph as the most common method. However The Time Traveller was blessed when Brooklyn fan Conrad Ruppert offered to print the zine with his typesetting press, giving the fanzine a professional look and status.
Voting is open now for the 2025 Ursa Major Awards -- the "People's Choice Awards" for Furry Fandom.

The Fantasy Tapestry Banners (now Ursa Major Award nominated) have been popular this last year at cons. But people keep asking for more designs. So what new designs would you want to see in this series for this year?

Congrats to my friends and peers who were nominated. And thank you to those who helped nominate me this year. First time I am in 3 categories.
There are lots of great works this year, and video games for the first time, so get your votes in: ursamajorawards.org/voting2025/
I remember I did a list of Animated Features (not the weird studios or straight to home release or WWII shorts) and I think it was at least 70% but I will have to go through it again. I also count mindswap (Soul, Hoppers), human (Evil Queen, Little Mermaid), inanimate (Beauty and the Beast) as TF.
That's what I been thinking for a while, how much can I save up to hire a bunch of artist, animator, musician, and va friends to help work on all my project ideas I won't have time for alone.
Thanks everyone, I'm almost sold out of all my copies of the Wrath of Con at Vancoufur. I will have more printed for the next con.
This comic is also an Ursa Major Award Graphic Story nominee. If you like the work consider taking the time to vote before March 23.

I appreciate this con had a lunch break for dealers and food delivery to the table but oof this is the most expensive curry I ever got, and I just realized I think the hotel overcharged me for a can of soda.
I found a plane fursuit #FursuitFriday
I think people have already accepted that Walt Disney is accepted a furry but we also need to realize that the Disney company is basically just a TF story generator. Almost all their movies involve TF, especially human to animal.
I need to tf into a starter
I had an idea for a while for a comic or animate series with a dog superhero TF. Two friends share a wish, one wants a pet dog, and the other wants superpowers. So friend who gets superpowers only does so when he TFs into a dog. So he's a superhero dog, better way to hide his identity.
All set up and ready to vend at my first Vancoufur. Snark downsized set up with limited product as UPS (even though I paid extra for expedite shipping) and customs has delayed my package of shirts and flags. I'm at Table 5. Hope to see you all this weekend.
I can't make it to all the furry cons, and often don't have space at my booth for my comics, if so they are often overshadowed by my other stuff. I would like to ideally find another furry publisher to help sell my comics for me at cons.
Yes, while I should be cautious, I always appreciate when friends and fans bring me food or drinks, always ends up being a lifesaver in most cases. Even a little candy can give me just a little bit more energy.
Cons are expensive for us artists, we need to pay upfront sometimes thousands for a chance to make income (if we are even lucky to get accepted). Support artists and tip them if you can. Many of us are stuck behind tables for 8 hours or more with no helpers, food, or bathroom breaks.
Good to see your art again. Funny I was just thinking about the old pony days and wondering how you were doing and by coincidence saw your art on my feed. Happy to see you are still doing well and drawing cute art still.
I have so many friends working in animation, some very close I've known more than a decade, and sad to see news of layoffs from the mergers, studio closings, AI replacement.
If I had the funds would open a studio & hire as much animators as I can, in the meantime will support my best in other ways.
The restaurant across the street from Vancoufur is my family name. They gave me a pin of my family crest after I told them that. πΈ
It was nice hanging with you the last two AFCs, very sorry this has happened. I will support your future projects.
Yeah fellow piΓ±atas
I used the name TornadoTitan after my favorite Disney character for my pin alias. And I remember posts like these on Disney Pin forums, saying I have a "distinctive style" which was nice to see.
I haven't made much pins lately, because the fantasy pin market is too overflooded since then.
I was thinking of how briefly I was involved in the Disney Pin Trading community, that I quickly got enough recognition people recognized my pin style as unique, did a few pin events, won some pin awards, and then just sort of fell out of it. It was fun but not sure I have the time to get back in.
