The Clear Horizons & Emissions Codification Act died on the New Mexico Senate floor when seven Democratic senators joined all of the minority Republican caucus to kill it.

In a later interview, bill sponsor Mimi Stewart said Republicans didn't fight the climate bill that day because, "they didn't need to. They could jsut wait for the seven Democrats that voted with them."

The last three years were not jsut the hottest on record, they were even warmer than the historic warming trend would predict.
Some scientists are saying that if an El Niño sets up in the Pacific Ocean next year as expected, 2027 could be warmer still.

The #NewMexico Legislature ended today after a month of lawmaking
As per the last few years, things went well for the #oilandgas industry. A recurring bill to reduce #greenhousegas emissions met its demise, again

For those unaware, Space has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon, as we can potentially achieve that in less than 10 years, whereas Mars would take 20+ years.
The mission of SpaceX remains the same: extend consciousness and life as we know it to the stars.
It is only possible to travel to Mars when the planets align every 26 months (six month trip time), whereas we can launch to the Moon every 10 days (2 day trip time). This means we can iterate much faster to complete a Moon city than a Mars city.
That said, SpaceX will also strive to build a Mars city and begin doing so in about 5 to 7 years, but the overriding priority is securing the future of civilization and the Moon is faster.”

The David vs. Goliath Story of a Ranching Family and an Oil Giant They were cowboys amid the mesas in a corner of New Mexico. For years they coexisted with an oil company — until one day they couldn’t.

New story:

TL;DR - #cattle ranching family blindsided by a change in their relationship with the massive company that pulls #oil and #gas from their lands. Spills, bad roads and spoiled hunts ensue. Also a lesson in the split estate.
