Spark and Popfeed both allow you to crosspost to Bluesky directly in the app. I can't speak for them but for us, that's mainly why we ask for broad permissions.

We'll definitely take this into consideration as we make more first-party feeds.
The repo linked is for anyone to create their own feed that all Spark users can see and use in the app, so someone could create their own feed that does that and more, just like you can on Bluesky.

For folks abandoning TikTok after its US takeover, consider using something like @skylight.social or @sprk.so or similar systems that give you a similar feeling but on an open protocol underneath so you'll never have to "move" again.
The reason you were signed out is because we switched to OAuth login. We recommend you use the same account as you use for your Bluesky account.

We also added a new UI for photo carousels and the app is over 30x faster on first loads and profile loads.

It's the same character limit as Bluesky, 300 characters, but the app doesn't stop you from posting if it goes over, the server just marks it as invalid.

We're fully built into atproto. All records write directly to your repo. We're working on adding more Bluesky integration but we've received feedback in the past that people want the ability to follow people on Spark and not on Bluesky.
There was feedback that users wanted to be able to follow separate people than they did on bluesky. We are working on adding an import feature.

Wherever passwords are accepted, both will work as far as I know.

Display name being required is wrong, you're right. I'll change that.
It's a separate profile but it uses your same identity. This is because we received feedback people wanted to have customization independent from their Bluesky profile. We'll add follower import features soon but the removal of sync was based on similar feedback.
Fix has been published on iOS and sent for review on Android.
We're hoping to release OAuth as soon as atprotodart's OAuth implementation supports PDS resolution instead of just one PDS.
The fix to this is building right now. Should be out in about 5 minutes for iOS and a few hours for Android (has to go through review for Android).
Just update from the current one! The new version is out on iOS and still in review on Android. It should be out within the next few hours.
