Cant wait to see how these lighter sections evolve π
Yarn available at my etsy, pattern will be released sometime this month π
Ambah uses the Western Australian Coastline kit for her fingering weight sample so i am redyeing that kit now (for the last time ever) grab one while you can
Knitting and yarn laying against a white background 14 minis are lined up above the knitting. They are arranged in the order they will be added to the knitting. They are light caramel to pinks and light blue with speckles. The knitted fabric below shifts from almost black brown and gradually lightens as each new colour was added. There is a stepped border of a warm dark caramel colour that runs along the right hand side.
Photograph of the same layout as the previous photo but zoomed in. The fabric is now the main subject with the minis still visible at the top of the image
The knitting laid out flat so the fabric and colour changes are easier to see
A zoomed in image of the knitting. The little light sections and their speckles are easier to see
My testknit magiclands wrap by @ambahobrien.bsky.social using my Nebula kit is getting too big to photograph well. The light pooling and streaking across the dust clouds of the nebula makes my π sing. The tiny pops of pink & blue speckles amidst the other speckles are everything I had hoped for π§Ά
Thanks πβ¨
Knitting and yarn laying on a white background The mini skeins are being added in numerical order (1 to 24) with the larger ball of yarn used continuously on the right side. The minis start at a dark brown and progress through to light caramels, then pinks and light blue. They are all heavily speckled and have a light section which has caused pooling in the knitting
Same layout as the previous photo but zoomed in more to see speckles
Zoomed in closer showing the join where minis and the main colour combine
Extra zoomed in to see the garter fabric and speckles
Nebula kit being knit up in @ambahobrien.bsky.social magiclandswrap design π§Ά
I seriously couldnt be more thrilled with how this is knitting up. Im loving the little pools of light scattered and bunched up in the dark section. Love the stepped band of the main colour along the right side π#knitsky
Thank you π
A scrunched up shawl in a white background The shawl is quite large and visually complex. So its difficult to describe The colours are dark bright blue, pink, purple and a yellowish preachy colour The left side of the photo shows 2 balls of yarn (blue and pink) with the diamond and βwovenβ section of slip stitches. Above the slipped stitch section is a border of brioche knitting with the blue on the front side and the pink on the reverse.
Zoomed in photo of the same layout and orientation of the shawl.
Close up of the brioche section and the woven slipped stitches
I made a start on my brioche border of my mkal shawl
Im planning on doing the 3 brioche sections but im also itching to cast on a special testknit as well so i might set this aside for a little bit π€

1 kit of this is still available at my etsy

I havenβt been posting this as i didnβt want to spoil the mystery knit for others but Iβm a week behind so i think this is ok now
Knitting laying against a white background. There is a LOT going on (Stephen Westβs mystery knits are always very visually complex) The colours are a dark bright blue, a lilacish purple, a warm pink and a peachy orange with splashes of neon yellows. On the left there is a slip stitch section that looks like a woven pattern, below that is a diamond pattern in repeating rows of colour. Scrunched up at the bottom right is a section of repeating βfanβ shapes and above that is a ripples squiggle section that has thinner stripes at the middle of the shawl which become larger at the right edge
Same arrangement of the shawl as the previous section but the focus is on the diamonds and slipped stitches. The other sections are still visible at the right
Closer view of the slipped stitches and diamonds The photo has rotated 90Β° from the previous images
Clue 3 is done!
I have yarn in the oven, tomorrow I will be working at the garden centre so today is for knitting π

I have one of this kit thats dyeing now on singles (Electric Blue, Purple Blush, Pink Dream, and Peach Burst on mohair and singles) in the shop.
Thank you so much π
Thanks so much π
Its a pretty fun knit, the colour changes help keep it interesting and you can see youre making progress so i find it hard to put down
Thank you :) its so cosy and soft
Knitting and yarn against a white background The body of the cardigan is displayed with its back and sleeves visible. The left sleeve cuff is a dark blue and this colour progresses along the sleeve to dark greens then across the body it shifts to lighter greens, greys, creams and soft caramel tones before the right sleeve where the brown tones deepen to a dark brown cuff. The hem is a bright golden mustard colour (i find it hard to describe!) the matching balls of yarn are at the bottom right of the photo. They will be used for the button band
The same phto but zoomed into the lower right section of the cardigan. The twisted rib detail of the hem is clearly seen
Hem completed! Time to pick up stitches for the button band
I love the colour pop inspired by the bright colours of the snow gums bark.
Pattern by @ambahobrien.bsky.social Jolly Cardy still currently in testing

Thank you π
Knitted cardigan and 2 balls of yarn on a white background The cardigan is laying on a white surface with yarn and needles attached at the hem. The body and sleeves of the cardigan are knit in a shifting colour progression of dark blues, greens, greys, creams and browns. The hem and 2 balls of yarn are a bright greenish mustard yellow
Same areangement as the previous photo but zoomed in so the hem and yarn are the main focus of the photograph
Working on the hem π
Pattern: Jolly Cardy by @ambahobrien.bsky.social still in testing but perfect for any festive advent kits, gradient sets, striped leftovers or even one solid colour π§Ά

Sleeves can be tricky like that, i think it helps when there are new colours to add, it feels like youre always making progress
Thank you π
Knitting and yarn laying against a white background The body and sleeves of the cardigan have been knit and are off the needles. From left to right the colours flow from dark blue to greens to greys to creams and finally dark brown There is a skein of yellowish green yarn underneath the knitting to show it will be added next as the hem and collar. I will hold the same colour of mohair with it so it creates the same fabric as the cuffs.
Same photo arrangement as the previous photo but zoomed in and rotated slightly so the main focus is on the newly finished dark blue cuff and some of the body. The top of the skein of yarn also pops up at the bottom of this photograth
Finished the left sleeve of my Jolly Cardy testknit for @ambahobrien.bsky.social
Time to start on the hem!
Going to organise the π§Ά that arrived today & post some more packages. So popping this aside for a bit
Yarn: Winter Whisper kit (on singles) held with the mohair options #knitsky
Beautiful π
I feel calmer just looking at it π
Knitting and yarn on a white background On the left there are 3 dark blue mini skeins and a small ball of yarn with a larger ball of mohair attached to the knitting. The cardigan has part of the left sleeve knitted with the colours progressing to dark greens, then fading across the body to soft greys and caramels before darkening into browns for the right sleeve. The right sleeve is a bit scrunched around so it would fit into the photograph. Under the knitting is the yarn im going to use to knit the waistband and buttonband. (Matching mohair is currently drying on the line
A zoomed in photo of the knitting and yarn of the previous set up. Most of the right side has been cut off
Progress on my testknit for @ambahobrien.bsky.social with the Jolly Cardy knit using my Winter Whisper kit with mohair held double.
Im using the final minis of dark blueish tones πππ
Yarn available at my etsy (link in bio)
Pattern to be released later (keep an eye on Ambahs account)

Its true, and if ive now lost my place there will be a louder word used and ill start counting again out loudπ
Instant follow
I dyed the yarn so it should shift across the colours without effort from the knitter π
The mohair helps soften some of the transitions too (except where the mohair also changes colour)
Dyeing kits that fade is one of my favourite things
Knitting and yarn laying against a white background On the left there is a ball of mohair and a small ball of a greenish blue yarn attached to the knitting. There are 4 dark blue minis underneath them which subtly shift from a lighter shade of dark blueish green to a deep dark blue. In the middle of the photo there is the cardigan being knit. The left sleeve is currently being knit while the body and right sleeve have been created. Its a little scrunched up as its too big to fit into the photo. The colours shift from left to right from dark greens, to greys to soft caramels and finally browns. Underneath the cardigan is a bright greenish yellow skein which will be used for the waistband and buttonband
The same image as before except the photograph has zoomed into the knitted fabric
Just a little bit of progress to show today
Jolly Cardy being test knit for @ambahobrien.bsky.social using my Winter Whisper kit on Singles with mohair held double. Im using 5 colours of mohair for the body and Im dyeing up the same contrast colour on mohair for the button & waistband π§Ά

Cardigan in the process of being knit with the yarn arranged next to it against a white background The cardigan is getting a bit too big to photograph easily so the right sleeve is folded back against the body. On the left the mini skeins that are still to be added are arranged in colour order to show how the progression will continue The colours from cuff of the left sleeve to the cuff of the right sleeve go from dark blue, greens, greys, caramels to dark brown
Zoomed in photo of the previous photograph showing the knitted fabric and the colour progression. A little of the sleeve is seen as are the very top ends of the minis
A photo of the minis skeins arranged in a circle (like spokes in a wheel) with the bright contrasting greenish gold skein sitting in the middle. This is the colour Im thinking of using for the collar and waistband
I forgot to take photos yesterday and I made a lot of progress ππ
Testing the Jolly Cardy for @ambahobrien.bsky.social using my Winter Whisper kit with the 5 mohair options, thinking of dyeing a 6th & using the bright 100g skein for the waistband & collar held with the same colour mohair π§Ά#knitsky
Its such an enjoyable knit its hard to put down so it wont be too long :)
Thank you
Ooh that blanket is PERFECT
Tempted to make an offer π€¦ββοΈππ
