In my imagination it prevents the sauces from seeping into the bread

Grill one side bread slice till toasted. Flip, lightly toast. Remove from grill, butter, add:

- sliced cheddar
- Tabasco, Worcester sauce, dried herbs, black pepper
- shredded mozzarella if I have it

Grill till bubbling. Eat, burn: fingers; roof of mouth.

What’s your cheese on toast strategy?

How can I still not buy Kindle books from the Kindle app or the Amazon iOS app?

How come antitrust or the EU haven’t cracked open the market so I can buy whatever e-reader device I want for Kindle books, and sell e-books to Kindle from alt stores?

Satellite Eyes

Satellite Eyes is a free, open source MacOS app that sets your desktop wallpaper to the satellite view of your current location. I've just released 2.0, which adds an option to shuffle through a selection of interesting-to-look-at places from around the world. satelliteeyes.tomtaylor.co.uk

Nothing that will be news to you I imagine!

Scaffold is worker + react router + DO wrapped in Agents SDK

Then I prioritised reliable multiplayer editing, so the foundation is TipTap and a Yjs store, one doc per DO

It is absurdly improbable that you can hoover up the internet, shred it, then talk to the mulch pile and it talks back.

Pavlok is a wrist band that gives you electric shocks by remote control:

β€œI have been biting my nails for 25 years…I shocked myself every time I bit my nails… my husband had a good time shocking me when he caught me biting my nails… this helped with … quitting nail.”

Those ellipses… doing a lot of work… on… the β€œhow it works” page. Also, husband.

You know that friend who won’t eat Taco Bell anymore after she got a terrible case of food poisoning?

That’s how it works: "That’s aversive conditioning. We’ll help you use it to your advantage."

Well why not.

The wrist band also has an alarm clock function.

I once playtested my friend's video game, which used the Pavlok to shock you when you get hit.

I got shocked a lot (they told me I was by far the worst playtester). It was a VR game, and I didn't realize I could look around.

pls write this up as a paper like β€œwhat should be done with the AI productivity dividend?” β€” put the jobs impact in there as a section but otherwise lead on opportunity and positivity (to get debate going). Otherwise it’ll end up as concentrated profits (outside the UK)

All my wonderful imaginative kind thoughtful old friends who stopped making things as they moved in mgmt or had families or life took over or tech got un-fun are making and writing and sharing again, and it makes my heart sing

One thing @genmon.fyi nails about agentic coding is that it absolutely has that playing Civ "just one more turn" itch:

looks like bsky ate some of the syntax, I've added a screenshot here

you give it an existing file (e.g. from your code repo), it uploads it to a new mist doc, and gives you the url to share/edit

Neat! Cloudflare DO all the way. Yjs/TipTap for sync and editor, and CriticMarkup for comments + suggested changes. Will you be adding those? Would love to get some interop on a file format for a proper distributed md-native alt to Google Docs
