Our future may depend on the humanities For Peter Sutoris, the humanities hold the key to understanding and responding to the many civilisational crises we face

'what we’re seeing now is not a neutral rebalancing of the books. It feels like a dismantling of the humanities, a retreat from the very fields of knowledge that hold the keys to our collective future.'

Bangor University Archives under threat due to newly proposed cuts by the University. This would be devastating for the study of Welsh heritage and history, as well as broader global studies.

I must admit that - up until now - I hadn't given much thought to the homes of Sir Gruffudd Llwyd, principal lieutenant/de facto ruler of much of North Wales in the first decades of the 14th century.

For modern takes on post-Conquest Gwynedd, men like Sir Gruffudd are a bit of a problem [cont.]
