Fabulous. This was the third BBC radio version. There had been a 15-part Book at Bedtime reading in 1953; and a six-part dramatisation in 1957. Here are the first billing and a mini feature for the 1968 Radio 4 serial. @radiotimes.bsky.social

Pleased that Iβve held onto these for 44 years.
On BBC Four tonight, a chance to see again this wonderful BBC film from 30 years ago starring Derek Jacobi as Alan Turing β Hugh Whitemore's #BreakingTheCode #AlanTuring @radiotimes.bsky.social
Interesting. This touches on something I was writing very recently.
Defo. Also Julia Smith.
Luckily I know when to stop. In this case I shouldnβt have started.
Dear God alive!
#Amadeus My recommendation @RadioTimes for Christmas week. Sky's excellent new five-part adaptation of Peter Shaffer's classic play with Will Sharpe, Paul Bettany, Gabrielle Creevy and Rory Kinnear. The whole series is available to watch from today on Now
You were right first time, Paul. Even for Xmas pop, itβs utter pap. Even all that production and fandango on Strictly last weekend couldnβt disguise its blandness.
Cinema heaven @BFI today.
#SunsetBlvd definitely in my all-time Top Ten.
Just arrived in the post. More excellence from Richard Marson. Fortunately Iβve already read it. @tenacrebooks.bsky.social

The Beeb has been pusillanimous and self-flagellating for decades now.
Itβs taken Noel years, but he has finally done it! Weβre thrilled to announce that Noel has acquired the very early Z-Cars episodes to share with you! Starting on Friday (14th Nov) at 8pm, weβre rewinding back to 1962 for THE VERY FIRST EPISODE of this groundbreaking series. In Four of A Kind, we're introduced to Detectives Barlow and Watt and meet the incomparable Brian Blessed as PC Fancy Smith alongside James Ellis as PC Lynch. Fans will know that Ellis went on to appear in over 600 episodes, earning some well-deserved promotions along the way. Do remember not every episode has survived sadly but we are busy restoring and subtitling as many as we can.! Be sure to tune in every Friday at 8pm β you wonβt be disappointed!
