Are we polarized? Or are we realistic?

Academy Award nominee TimothΓ©e Chalamet set the opera and ballet worlds abuzz recently when, in an interview for Variety and CNN, he insinuated that "no one cares" about the art forms. The actorβ€”whose grandmother, mother, and sister were ballerinasβ€”is currently nominated for his performance in Marty Supreme.

I'd forgotten the part of Carpe Jugulum where Nanny describes Omnians like Oats as "Sects Maniacs," snort.

If that sentence didn't make sense to you, you really should read #Discworld.

I know it doesn't make the personally rotten time better. But it will help sustain you through

Psychic chickens may have an otherworldly concordance with the cosmos beyond all human comprehension but that doesn't mean they give great advice.

I wish I didn't understand this. I'm not, now. But I spent a decade that way. Of course they checked my gallbladder, twice, (it's fine! No.) before they finally took it out. πŸ˜‘

COORDINATE, and bring a CPAP and a mouthpiece and make sure the kids are ok and I don't have to drive anybody to work at 7AM.

It won't always be that way, but some men do not understand that, for sure. (Or women, anybody not parenting)

and with that, I felt like I needed more contact because it felt like a sinking ship and I was always confused. But like, when there's secure attachment, NBD. I'm perfectly happy to go do my own things.

It's such a complex balance. Like, I'm old. If somebody wants me to stay over, I have to

Yeah.... That one's been so hard. I still do like periodic texts and stuff. I personally find that the more secure I am in a relationship, the more I'm fully autonomous and don't need as much. Like, I had one where he would keep me feeling unstable (there were undisclosed mental illnesses involved),

Ok, laughing, but yes. So, my exbf was, in part, ideal for me because he wasn't free more than once or so a week, and really, I'm not either. I LOVE really hanging out and being with somebody and stuff... But like, not every day and I don't want to LIVE with somebody πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Exhausted Mom puts away good, gets ready for bed, remembers she should shower, decides the best thing about radio shows is that she shouldn't have to shower. RIP my co-host, I'll have on clean clothes and be fresh ENOUGH, yo.

The hard thing with masking is that EVENTUALLY it gets too exhausting.

Sometimes earlier, with a burnout. Sometimes later, as we age and become more tired. I hit that early because of arthritis, but still masked some in public. Now? WYSIWYG, I guess. I miss those who don't like me, but I like me.

I was a lovely thing in my 20's. Alas!

I'm still a lovely thing, I'm just a much, much larger lovely thing.

... Which is very sad, really, because I have found, working with brilliant academics, authors, teachers, and other "formerly gifted kids," that MOST of us (especially if musicians or theater kids🀣) fall someplace on the ADHD/ASD/AUDHD spectrum, and might not know until/if we have kids. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I get it! I'm 50, and figured out the ASD part for me at the same time as searching for answers for my kid. I basically read that CAT-Q test and burst out laughing, because OH, LOOK, IT'S ME AS A KID.

irony: my exbf HAS a PhD in ed, but probably more hands on experience with the stigma of ASD
