Do you only go to ConFoo on the years I don't?
I'm pretty sure it's because they didn't know how to create accounts without passwords :D. I was an intern at the time and apparently the only person who found the setup worrisome.
a couple of decades ago I installed a host in a data center where all the other hosts from all the other customers had the same network accessible administrator password. The password was... "password".

Production quality just means most of the bugs are new.
Then there's the people who don't respond but show up anyway, and now there isn't enough cake.
Maybe a baby monitor?

Just out of curiosity, did your blog ever run on MovableType?

Yes it was also possible to build YSlow plugins. I built one at an internal hack day to do this: tech.bluesmoon.info/2010/08/equa...
I still worked out of India then but I made it out for OSCON later that year when YSlow was announced as a Firebug plugin (plugin inception)
I remember doing Yahoo Hack U at CMU.
For emails, you didn't just write more HTML, you also have to base64 encode everything and can't gzip in transit.
tried to use it for HTML emails, but it doesn't work in Outlook. It's the only email client that insists on living in the past.

A box of Douce Romance Butter Waffles with the Korean text 버터 와플 and the English text Premium Dessert written in English. A picture of 3 people having tea is on the left and a close up of 3 waffles on the right.
Is this a thing now where the Korean text is just the English transliterated into Hangul?
Screen capture of the snowflake icon in Google weather showing a snowflake with 4 branches.
Someone needs to tell Google Weather that snowflakes have 6 branches, not 4.
Y'all should check out "In Defense of Food" by Michael Pollan.

Tried to make Panettone but ended up with Volcanotonne. Apart from the shape, it came out well. 50% whole wheat and used my own strain of yeast extracted from the skin of a mango. The overflow was due to excessively deep scoring.
