Two new rideshare companies try to compete with Uber and Lyft in Toronto Hopp and Hovr look to eat into American incumbents’ market share and capitalize on Canadian patriotism

Years ago, City Council & Mayor Tory passed rules that set Uber up as a quasi monopoly in Toronto. Council and Mayor Chow have so far failed to address these uncompetitive rules and to bring fairness to drivers.
