having used claude extensively for the past couple of months, i think there is still a lot of value to understanding your code and steering it intentionally. the amount of incidental complexity claude accumulates otherwise (which mostly results in bugs that it can't ever fix reliably) is staggering.
it’s honestly very miraculous and weird that everything has managed to reach this level of independence and maturity, a lot of personalities interacting in specific ways to reach great outcomes that they didn’t necessarily want

I like that doc because it explains why Apatow has kind of an aggressive “just become a father already so you don’t disappoint the people in your life” bent, since he saw his mentor so severely refuse to compromise there
I also think this ruling points to why using LLMs for code is much less fraught or disruptive than using them for art; rather than invite a lot of new/bad precedent around “an LLM obviously made this,” LLM code basically follows the same processes as regular code and is not meaningfully different
