I think they might have better luck spending two thousand dollars holding a press conference where they detail who made the key decisions to collaborate with the Trump administration, how and when they were fired, and explaining what would stop that from happening again.

How hot they got about #metoo

It wasn’t just the admittance of women

…. It’s when Tarana Burke got a 500k
β€œ oh shit our bad” and people started getting walked out the damn door

AT THE PLACES EPSTEIN WAS KING

It’s when BLACK women started moving

And what did project 2025 start with

I'm sorry. How awful.

Mine is surely more narrow than yours, but I can remember my then-gf's sibling complaining about a car outside that was rusted out and had a tear in the exhaust, "I just don't understand why people DRIVE cars like that."

"They can't afford something better?"

"Oh please. My car was like $5k."

I am labor class , immigrant ,

And like... that seemed to me like a thing rich people would be able to figure out. Sure Charles the CTO can't imagine what a woman in abusive relationship's life is like, but surely he knows that the day laborers working on the addition to his house may not speak English or have laptops? No.

It continually terrifies me that I know how little thought goes into so many systems and how disconnected the people who make decisions are from the lives of the average people.

Just this year I had to explain to an exec that the users of our app, construction workers, might not have a work laptop.

And I gave him that look of "I think I recognize you but I can't think why," and he was like "Sorry I'm not doing autographs right now," and started making a phone call.

I was kind of offended at his assumption that I would talk to a stranger on purpose and unnecessarily.

The formerly? homeless radio announcer guy who was on all the morning shows a few years ago after he went viral on YouTube was in a restaurant I was in. (He has the same name as someone else famous but I forget who?)

It’s The Great Muppet Caper for sure, though Time Bandits is a close runner-up.

I could believe that someone got a nazi skull by accident and didn't know.

I cannot believe that this guy, a former US marine, former mercenary, who hangs out with nazis and goes on nazi podcasts, got a nazi skull by accident.

Folks in health care: DO NOT FUCKING WEAR THESE-**ESPECIALLY** IN PATIENT CARE AREAS!

If I ever catch a colleague wearing these, I am reporting them to management, the state, whatever press outlets I can, and to the patient & their family.

I do not care who it pisses off. Just fucking DO NOT.

I think if you’re OK with Graham Platner working for Blackwater, you have officially lost the moral high ground required to yell at anyone else for working for a military contractor or being in the military ever again

Like sorry you gotta choose!

Pizza.
Two pizzas. One cheese. One pepperoni and mushroom.

Pizza. Two pizzas. One cheese. One pepperoni and mushroom.

It's been a long week. I'm tired. I was not emotionally prepared for the administration to start another pointless bloody war. But I'm still here.
So are you. That's important.

And it's Friday afternoon. That means something. At least one good thing.

"They just want attention. The sooner you stop arguing with them and just let them put their kids on their laps while driving drunk, the sooner this will be over," makes exactly the same amount of sense.

And there is no vaccine that is 100% effective.

If measles is going around because too few people are vaccinated, some vaccinated people will get sick. And some will experience serious complications.

People want this to be simple where only foolish people (or their kids???) suffer. But it's not.

Like again, it's really easy to come here on this internet and dunk on people and yell at people. But that is not going to solve anything. And apparently the answer here for this person is to just give up and let people die. Thank goodness for public health people who keep on trying.

06.03.2026 20:04 πŸ‘ 35 πŸ” 3 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

This is such short-sighted thinking. What about the babies who are too young to get vaccinated? The immunocompromised for whom vaccines are less effective? Breakthrough cases of vaccinated people. Public Health officials cannot give up so easily on trying to educate people as this person can.

I LOVE this show . LOVE it. Zoe Washburn is part of why I’m this specific kind of annoying .
I am sorry Gina Torres

…
And no
I am not excited .

It feels very much like folks are all retreating to proven IP to circumvent the obvious issues we have post anti DEI

Han Solo is the President and his plane is hijacked by Commissioner Gordon.

Is the president a bad enough dude to rescue himself?

I did something new in my writing-intensive Paleoecology capstone this year: I'm making them read books. I gave them a list of books to choose from, and they turn in reflections on the material and also the writing.

It has been a joy to watch these students discover a love of reading nonfiction.

Seeing a lotta people like β€œno Firefly sucked actually” and hard disagree; I really like Firefly, I have a huge amount of lingering affection for it, I think a lot of it is quite solid and it has some truly great moments, and also it’s good that it’s over and it should stay that way

Vibe coding broke people's brains because they had a bad understanding of the software design process.

The pop culture model goes something like this: start out with a sketch and then render that same idea in progressively finer detail.

So when tools could "skip" to high detail, people went WOW.
