The way she campaigned, she could have been the candidate from the jump and had she used the same strategy and policies she loses exactly the same way.
Literally all she had to do was break from Biden on a few key policies, promise accountability rather than compromise. Instead we got Dick Cheney.
Except that is managing a single symptom of the crisis and the percentage of people helped by that is minimal compared to the amount of people affected by the big picture problem. Just like with the ACA, helping 10% while doing nothing to help 90% is not going to be popular.
