Iβve never used a swift and ball winder and I finally got to use one today at a local fiber arts cafe (Stitch Cafe). So magical!! Love that they have this resource and space for people to hang out and do their projects together π
Literally the fact that CAPs exist to help people navigate their health insurance is insanity. We shouldnβt need another organization to turn to for help to navigate our insurance plans?? www.cms.gov/cciio/resour...
Few things make me feel more emotionally drained, demoralized, and gaslit than trying to navigate healthcare insurance. It shouldnβt be this way.
Not a new thought or feeling, but itβs so discombobulating to show up to work and just act like everything is normal and try and focus on the tasks at hand. Sure, let me just forget about all the people who died this weekend at the hand of my government (with my tax dollars) and write that reportβ¦
Congress must return immediately and vote to put an end to this war.
Every Senator should be on the recordβthe American people deserve to know which of their leaders supports another potentially bloody and costly war in the Middle East.
No war with Iran.
Felt nice to sit down with a paper puzzle and work on it for a while today π
FWIW, YES we need a less regressive tax system. But, I donβt appreciate Weastnetβs flippant tone. Removing tax on grooming & hygiene products is a big deal. These are essential items (think tampons, toothpaste, soap) that keep people healthy and safe, and removing barriers to access is key.

L for the @seattletimes-rss.bsky.social today. Could the morning brief subject line be about actual news and not putting your opinion column front and center?
I just called my reps with @5calls.org, you should too: 5calls.org
Wth Google. I donβt want AI summaries of my emails. Trying to turn off the smart features and it wonβt let me. I keep toggling things off and come back to them toggled on again.
Finished knitting the Midsummer Knits heartless tank π€ learned a lot of new skills!
Oh and this is how much yarn I had left π (at least from my original batchβ¦ I did end up finding another skein on eBay as a backup but didnβt end up needing it)
Just need to sew on buttons and block!
The βprosecute the former regime at every levelβ candidate has my vote in 2028.
Sneaky peek of the first page of REBEL OF THE REGENCY. Have you seen a nonfiction biography of a British queen start with a quote from RPDR? You have now!! And you now get the special meaning of the lipstick-on-a-mirror font on the cover.
Why does microfiber exist? Itβs the biggest sensory nightmare. I can barely touch it without wanting to pull away and do a little shiver.
Iβm sure seasonal depression will come to kick my ass at some point, but at the moment Iβm really looking forward to this winterβ¦ taking a step back and chilling out for a while. Also just feeling a bit hopeful and excited for what the year may hold.
Cardigan update! Took the body off the needles last night. Next up: sleeves! Am definitely playing yarn chicken with this project.
My latest project - for a friend who sat with me a lot while I worked on my big quilt π officially taking a break from quilting after this project but had fun making it
Beautiful Seattle sunset today π
Iβve finally decided to start knitting my Dalia cardigan from stolen stitches. My first cardigan to knit! Am very excited
Snoozing
Sleepy morning
Been loving the fall colors on my commute home this week π taking light rail takes longer than driving would, but I love taking the time to look out the window, read, and relax instead. This was part of todayβs route between Tukwila and Rainier Beach at 2x speed. @sound-transit.bsky.social
Thank you!! Itβs my first quilt (aside from a couple of quilted tote bags). I just checked your profile - your quilts are gorgeous π maybe one day Iβll graduate to curved shapes haha
Thank you!! I had no idea what I was signing up for when I decided to make a king size π
Tonight I finished a king size quilt Iβve been working on since about May. Really since last year, but I started in earnest in May. I can finally use my kitchen table again for eating and things now that this project is done!
Oh to be a cat with a heated bed
Did anybody else start to really get into Enya after turning 30?
