Yeah hard agree! The no-steps-back by the core team I'm sure is even more work than it looks like, and they've really pulled it off IMO (and also, thankless since a lot of people don't realize how hard this stuff is!)
I'm pretty sure when I first heard of PDS Moover I didn't know PDSes were a thing that could move. But the framing of it, with the friendly pun, too, lays out exactly what it is and what it's good for.
Things like that are so awesome, that are almost self-descriptive
approach already kind of does a lot really well, and adding something else would not necessarily help (though I do still wish (as a superuser) I didn't have to keep logging into atproto apps over and over again).
Semi-related: PDS Moover is a masterclass in naming + intention.

Last 24 hours, with claude code tokens expiring, attempted ports (!) of jklb.social to farcaster and forkiverse (ActivityPub instance).
Farcaster got as far as nicely displaying hardcoded posts, with minimal bugs. Then got absolutely lost in the data model...

Yeah and seeing now ... since it's not a key management problem, trying to solve things with a browser extension could/would create GREATER confusion by making it seem like that's what it is. Again, really appreciate the response!

I can see why 'key management problem' is definitely not it.
And yeah wallets manage the key, whereas atproto we got the pds.
So yeah an atproto wallet would confuse things probably more lol
and crypto-world onboarding, the flow of 'get a wallet, then use the wallet to engage with the world' ... that maybe abstracts a lot? But is a known place to start.

Do you know what I mean, though? Just the friction of logging into all the ATProto apps, and that when I talk to people about ATProto and explain how you can just ... use your account they tend to not understand.
