Not for nothing here, but in a decarbonized energy economy, the cost of everything doesn’t go up because of a war halfway around the world.

Passage is temporarily blocked in a body of water I otherwise haven’t heard of? The sun is still shining and the wind is still blowing here, so we have power.

If an official commits an impeachable offense and nobody acts to impeach, it is no longer an impeachable offense.

People who oppose impeachment as “pointless” because it seems unlikely to result in removal do not understand this very simple point and seem unwilling to even try to understand it.

So never vote for Dems ever again, because there's no way to tell if they're just Republicans in disguise. Got it.

Gotta love how we all keep paying the price for the things he thinks matter, while also not getting the things we're paying for.

Look, I will admit that all of the philosophy majors were rather insufferable back when I was taking a bunch of philosophy courses in college, but it's called the hard problem of consciousness for a reason, and maybe these tech guys should have taken some classes in philosophy.

Liar. Nothing you said was true.

If you want to find the messaging failures, look in the mirror.

I cannot tell you how angry it makes me to be called a child. That worked 20 years ago, but it doesn't work now. If you don't want to show basic respect to people who don't agree with you, then you are doing exactly what my kids do, and you are the child. As is every member of Democratic leadership.

I will always speak my mind. I will always criticize the people who are in power. I will always make sure that I am pushing for progress and improvement, and that means calling out failures to make progress and improve. If you are willing to be lazy, that's on you.

I voted for her because I didn't want the fascist to win. I was given no other choice. I tried as hard as I could to make better choices available. When that didn't work, I tried to make her change. That you have decided to accept the crumbs that fall from their table does not make you right.

You and everybody who takes your stance are the children here. You need to shut up and get out of the way of the adults who actually want to make things happen in this country. You are worthless and pointless and naive and demonstrably failures. I am sick and tired of all of this. Grow up.

I have been called a child since I was 18 and saying exactly the same things that I'm saying now. I have proven myself for 26 years of voting. If the children who are in charge of the people I keep voting for don't want to listen, fuck them too.

I voted for her, as well as every other Democrat on the ticket top to bottom, as I have done every election since 2000, when I became eligible to vote. I want Dems to win. They should listen to me when I tell them how to win. They don't.

False.

08.03.2026 01:28 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

You can't say Dems don't know how to reach out to constituencies that they want to win over, because they do it all the time. They just usually don't do it towards the left. That's a choice. Choose differently, or get used to losing.

08.03.2026 01:25 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

And if your only strategy is to say that voters who don't understand that they should vote for your candidate even if your candidate offers them no incentive are irrational, stupid, etc, then you're just going to keep losing, because you'll just make them dig in harder by insulting them.

08.03.2026 01:25 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0

It doesn't matter if you say it's not rational, it doesn't matter if you insist that the threats and scolding "should" be enough. The psychology of motivation means you MUST offer an incentive, you have to provide something to vote FOR. Dems didn't. They lost. So they should do better in the future.

08.03.2026 01:20 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0

However, that doesn't get voters to vote FOR anyone. This is something every parent learns early on, if they're paying attention. Scolding and threats can stop bad behavior, but not motivate good behavior. To get someone to do something, as opposed to not do something, you have to offer rewards.

08.03.2026 01:20 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0

You can't win an election based on what you want voters to do, you have to win the election based on what voters WILL do. You can't motivate people to action with negative messages. All you can do with "Trump is bad" messaging is get voter to not vote for him, which worked.

It would be great to have additional information, like for instance an official "lessons learned" document created by the organization that ran the campaign. A document which exists, but which they don't want to show us.

07.03.2026 19:11 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

It's crazy to insist that the strategy you know lost was reasonable because you don't know if a different strategy would have won. The only information you have is that doing it the way they did it lost, which all the people who begged them to do it differently warned them would happen.

07.03.2026 19:08 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Okay, then they should try it and see.

07.03.2026 18:49 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

That was the gamble the party took, that they could appeal to centrist and conservative voters enough to make up for the cost they'd pay with young, progressive, and Arab and Muslim voters. That bet didn't pay off. Which we told them it wouldn't. So maybe they should listen to us.

07.03.2026 17:33 👍 30 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

You can expect message discipline from electeds and party spokespersons. You can't expect it from millions of random voters.

07.03.2026 17:29 👍 62 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Trying to have it both ways just devolves to "you'll get what we decide to give you, now shut up and put us in power," which 1) is a political stance that SHOULD be criticized, and 2) demonstrably doesn't work.

07.03.2026 17:27 👍 94 🔁 5 💬 1 📌 0

You can't have it both ways. If we're numerous enough and influential enough to sway the election even if you get our votes, then you should take our opinions seriously and try to appeal to us. If we're not worth trying to win over, then we can't be influential enough to be to blame for a loss.

This is less an endorsement of a man who decided to quit the Marines rather than give up his Nazi tattoo, and more of an indictment of almost the entire party.

Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
