Also the reason the other mangakas put in a good word for Watsuki is weird, you'd think you wouldn't want to be associated with him after that scandal and yet there he is sharing the scene with them.
It makes in retrospect some the scenes in the show and manga weird. When Shishio and Kenshin are arguing for whenever the era will choose him or Shishio, it chose Kenshin, and yet Japan still devolved into a warmongering fascist state committing the worst war crimes in human history.
After Watsuki got outed for this stuff I began listening and reading up on Japanese history and my perception of Kenshin as a character drastically changed, since this hero supported what was essentially the fascist party in Japan during the revolution/meiji restoration...

It was one of the worst for me since they lock a lot of the story behind a paywall. FFXIV has the story free up to 4.5 and that's around 200 hours of game and it'll prolly go up next expansion. That said, you can make the argument it's free after that and you pay no sub so it's fine, shrug.
