Mysterious landmark on Google maps in the Scottish town of Annan, marked 'bart Simpson mural' with a 5 star rating
An absolutely shite bit of graffiti of Bart Simpson's face, hastily tagged to the side of a leisure centre in Annan, Scotland
You absolutely cannot put mysterious stuff like this on Google maps and not expect me to go investigate. Absolutely amazing bit of piss taking, very worth the drive lol
least evil act in existence
that's the problem with young people today, they get totally absorbed in some random wikipedia rabbit hole for hours instead of doing any productive work
a fudgy brownie benefits from some textural contrast in there
i think walnuts in brownies are good and i'm tired of pretending otherwise
That Succession episode where Kendall finds out a huge barrier to starting a thing with "cool" creatives is his last name. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...
I gather that everyone here is 100% certain Donald Trump hates immigrants.
I also gather you all are trapped in an epistemic chamber sealed tighter than the one around Fox News.
So, who here actually knew that Trumpโs wife is an immigrant?
And how does that influence your certainty?
you're going to be getting all your car juice from concentrate because freshly squeezed will be so expensive
(the irony of hannah barnes writing this story when the crank wing of the green party got radicalised in the exact same way she did)
i feel like anti-science cranks just have a lot less influence now in left and centre-left parties than they used to. lot of those people got radicalised to the far right.
surely we could test attention spans of different generations in some kind of research study
i've never actually seen this claim made backed up with a study or something. it's always just vibes.
watch some alfred hitchcock films and look at how they're paced, then tell me people today have dramatically different attention spans to earlier generations
this is just reheated complaints about the "mtv generation"
every generation ever is said to have shorter attention spans

i think i watched firefly in 2008 as soon as i finished buffy
that would be highly emotionally charged for me and the 20y/o me inside who loves the space pals
firefly was one of my favourite shows of all time when i was 20. i am exactly the theoretical target audience for this. i cannot imagine wanting it at all.
nick griffin going on question time was one of the most successful uk political moves this millennium in terms of shifting outcomes.
weird: pretransition i spent so many years having long hair as (subconsciously then consciously) a tiny bridge to femininity while presenting male. it was always at least shoulder length. but that now means my brain sees longer hair as "closeted man" and it's like "HOLY SHIT SO SHORT AND FEMME".
this is correct, but it's also giving me horrifying flashbacks to that one episode of the newsroom when some woman tells will mcavoy "this should be the top story on the news" and he actually makes it the top story
i don't agree with labour members on a lot of things (why i'm a green party member). but mahmood and her politics are not very popular with labour membership. labourlist.org/2025/11/labo...
the north/midlands divide is breaking our politics
in a leadership contest they have to appeal to the members, not their imagined idea of the general public.
the one big silver lining to Shabana Mahmood ramping up the anti-immigrant stuff is that labour will have a leadership contest this summer and all of the viable candidates will have to do a big display of saying no, they do not agree with this.
god it's so good
To appreciate trans existence you have to face the horrifying reality that trans adults were not cis kids.
