I have an obsession with finding out the what things *actually* look like, then simplifying to pixel art,
so references like this are absolute useless garbage to me
(yes that is obviously what should happen )
but instead: it's where the boss fights/TD happens..
you fight "bots".. but I couldn't come up with a better visual that reads as "dangerous/boss fight" that's not a skull

exactly! Why did it take me so long to figure this out.
I thought i was being smart writing code to do all that..
but then those components all end up different.. and you have to remember how you were passing data etc.
with Shuriken it's always the same! Same UI, same vertex channels, a delight!
I used to set up a bespoke component to animate material colors etc.. for each FX I was doing.. (with Tweens)
but this is just so much faster! Even for just fading or scaling in/out a single mesh..
when all you have is a hammer,
(and the hammer is Shuriken)
everything looks like a particle.
I often use ParticleSystems even for spawning SINGLE meshes,
because you get all the Spawning, Timing, Color fading stuff for free

makes sense for a text based game but on the other hand you seem so good at finding that perfect aesthetic that it seems you'd want to preserve that vision as best as possible
