sucks to get so invested and motivated by these stories just for it to feel like its all crumbled away in less than a year and there's no coming back from this low with how much more bad news keeps coming out about it, feeling like i got no choice but to drop it and move on
then the final nail in the coffin was hearing they cut the substory about kiryu helping out a trans woman with her struggles which was actually respectfully written in the original 2009 game. there have been many questionable decisions from this company about women lately and it just sours my view
of course the main point of contention has been the casting of a sex pest and modeling a character after him, but even besides that the nonstop rewrites, nonsensical death retcons, unsatisfying gameplay, worse visuals, and omission of lots of content from the original game just keep piling on ugh
so disappointed how a new yakuza game is coming out in 2 days and i cant even force myself to be interested. really sucks that a series that made such a positive impact in my life has just thrown all their good will down the toilet in less than a year and every day there's worse news about it
