I bought Annalise many many years ago, but never managed to get it to the table with anyone. I remember thinking that some of the concepts in there were fascinating.
Do you happen to know if there were ever any AP published about it?
I used to follow him but he blocked me for reasons which have remained opaque to me. It's a shame because I enjoyed his contributions. Never knew what the problem was 😕

There is another reason for using houserules - to add campaign specific rules to reinforce some things about a particular campaign (or game) you are running.
That's neither fixing a problem nor tinkering for the sake of it, but a deliberate extension or change for a particular world.
