Yeah it's false advertising and it's wrecking people's lives. I would love to have a government that cares about protecting its citizens from fraud. Regulation is awesome.

Hailey is so awesome. Please help out a brilliant Brazilian translator and sci-fi writer who just needs a little bit more $$ to care for her sick mum.

It's one of my favorites. Get there before Ramadan ends so you can try an atayef!

06.03.2026 05:55 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Had a cheese atayef this evening at Reem's in San Francisco. Definitely one of the greatest things I have ever eaten. Soft and crunchy, sweet and salty, aromatic and sprinkled with pistachios. I will be thinking about it for a long time. I'm not sure why it was so perfect, but it was.

It's such a good vibe. Sir I will be killing this poacher while you do whatever you need with that salt lick

It’s Not Complicated The mainstream media failed the public during the genocide in Gaza. The Key's editor-in-chief shares her vision for what comes next.

Former LA Times managing editor @sarayasin.bsky.social launches The Key, a new publication about Palestine that will be "a home for journalists who have had their stories spiked in mainstream outlets."

Her opening essay is worth every second of your time: www.thekeymagazine.com/p/western-jo...

I'm also incredibly grateful that I'm able to continue publishing weird, queer, hopeful science fiction about people fighting for worker rights and community sovereignty. Thank you so much to everyone who worked on these books, and to everyone to read them!!! πŸ’–

For Your Consideration This Awards Season ... Best Novella: Automatic Noodle ... Best Anthology: We Will Rise Again, Edited by Karen Lord, Annalee Newitz, and Malka Older. The image shows the book covers of both works, and the background is a bunch of rainbow-colored stars, clouds, and planets.

It's awards season! I couldn't be more proud of the two books I published last year. "Automatic Noodle" is my love letter to San Francisco's future. The anthology "We Will Rise Again" is a hopeful collaboration between me, @older.bsky.social, @drkarenlord.bsky.social & many brilliant authors.

Wow I had no idea. I was a grad student at Berkeley at that time, and actually was in the very first seminar that Butler taught there. I knew about DA Miller's work, but was always more interested in Sedgwick. Thanks for giving me a dose of queer academic gossip from the 1990s!! So wild.

MUSLIM FUTURES A literary fiction and graphic novel anthology featuring stories set in aspirational futures through a Muslims lens

OK folks, we're about half way through our #MuslimFutures #Kickstarter for #Ramadan. Help Muslims tell their own authentic stories. My essay deals with #Shiism, queer narratives, and #gender beyond a binary. I play a little with language too. :) Prose and #comics

I've read Sedgwick's "Epistomology of the Closet" and "Between Men" but I didn't know she was rivals with anyone.

My cats like to jump on my shoulder and stick their butts in my face. Which I realize they mean in a friendly way, but I am too much of a homo sapiens to enjoy it.
