Just last week the German government gutted the heating law which was supposed to drive a transition away from gas.
The timing could not have been worse: Gas prices are up 50% today and this crisis could worsen significantly. This will happen again and again and the consumer pays the price.
Clearly the worries about low birth rates are overstated. Migration can increase populations without pressuring anyone to have kids. And if countries want to increase the number of kids born, increased immigration is still the way to go since people often migrate at childbearing age.
“There’s been a lot of doom and gloom about the birthrate, but the decline is also a success story, (...) A large part of the drop comes from teenagers and women in their early 20s — the least likely to want, or be able to provide for a baby."

I totally get that! It is so important to not overdo it and burn out. The majority of what I actively do atm is taking my aranet CO2 measuring device with me wherever I go and sharing the results. Low effort, and still I feel like I do something that benefits other Covid cautious people.

Very cool! I am a member of a local clean air group here in Austria: @igoe.at I get not wanting to post about it constantly, but it is good to have community, especially when there are so many out there who would rather minimize Covid than deal with it and other infectious disease risks.
In what ways is Covid being tracked in the US? Didn't wastewater virus level monitoring shut down? As far as I can see from Europe there is very little data or testing being done, which makes any info on Long Covid more murky as well.
Totally. All the Covid cautious people I know and follow talk about nasal vaccine research which hopefully will reduce infections and regular boosters until then.
The numbers I see are more 5-10% of the population which is still not low at all. And yes you definitely know someone with Long Covid but they might not mention it casually or even be diagnosed.
As someone with Long COVID: COVID can lead to so many things. I have migraines, POTS, MCAS and PEM (ME/CFS) all from Covid and I am still not "permanently disabled" fortunately. You seem not to be familiar with the wide variety of lingering symptoms from COVID infections.

The solution: ventilation, HEPA filtration, masks, UV
Washing hands and surfaces alone was already outdated in 2020 but by now with much additional research we can't ignore clean indoor air as an important factor in reducing infections.
