Powerful report showing failures in nations including UK to address mental health in later life are unfair, costly and missing vital opportunities to offer effective help. We agree @centreformh.bsky.social and call on UK Government to include this in 10 year plan later this year
Older people benefit just as much from therapy and mental health interventions as younger ones. Great to see βͺ@ilcuk.bsky.socialβ¬ call for better mental health support across the lifespan.
Stigma and βstiff-upper lipsβ are preventing too many people from seeking support for serious mental health conditions

Thanks @the-independent.com for covering our #MindTheAgeGap report

Iβve written a post over on LinkedIn about the increasing number of older people in prison and how education provision needs to adapt, based on my recent talk for @ilcuk.bsky.social.

Thanks for attending, @magicmearts.bsky.social and for the summary! We're pleased you were able to join us for #FutureOfAgeing to learn more about demographic change and the key challenges an opportunities in an ageing society π

After 40 years of improvement, ONS stats published today show life expectancy for both men and women fell in 2021 to 2023. Just one in six girls and one in ten boys born in 2023 are expected to live to 100 - in 2016, "one in three of todayβs babies will live to see their 100th birthday".
Great opportunity - application deadline is 9.00am on Tuesday morning
