Painting on the left is on a piece of roughly 2x3" cardboard I made in 2011/2012. Lost the original since then but I was able to recreate it in acrylic, silver/gold leaf and oil pastel this year (on the right). Feels good, man 😭

I love art that looks hand-made, I love art that has stray marks, I love art that has texture, I love art that has pencil lines, I love art that contains the ghost of a sketch, I love art that looks like it was made by a person, despite it being digital or not.

Just visited the museum this past weekend, it was so inspiring. Pretty sure the tour guide was his daughter-in-law and she was terrific. Have a great time!
