Tannus Armour Tire Liners
Prevent 90% of bike flats with Tannus Armour. 15mm of advanced multi-cell foam protects against punctures, pinch flats, and sidewall damage. Ride with confidence and go farther, flat-free!
It was expensive, but we added Tannus Armour tire liners to our ebikes today. Hoping that gives us enough piece of mind to bring them a bit further from home than we have thus far.

The MacBook Neo intrigues me only as a travel computer. Something I can watch a movie on the plane, type out some posts, do some trip journaling, edit a few photos, conduct some trip research—but without the risk of damage/theft of my primary computer/data. Probably not worth the money for me tho.

I just could not get back to sleep last night, but managed to remember there was an eclipse of the moon, so eventually wandered outside to watch it for awhile and snapped this quick pic of the sky.

A detailed list outlines the uses and features of a map tool, including options for creating multiple maps, customizing map pins, and integrating with other services.
I’m looking for some Microblog testers for my new Maps plugin before I prep it for public release. It’s self-contained and easily reversible if you don’t like it or have any issues, and it should be theme-agnostic, too.
Send me a message if you’re interested.

Welp, I had to cancel my participation in this week’s Miami trip this morning, just prior to heading to the airport. Bummer.
So here’s a shot of the curving pedestrian walkway leading up the lookout tower at Shark Valley in Everglades National Park, where we would have been this weekend.

I should be packing today, but instead I’ve been too engrossed in adding some more features to this MB plugin I’ve been working on. I have everything implemented for v1 and a list of possible features for v2, but still have theme testing and example maps to build, so release date remains unclear.

I’m finally updating my travel quests after our last trip.
I managed to add two countries to my overall life total, and to my National Parks in 50 Countries quest, but missed out on adding to any other quests (for instance, we made it to an Irish Pub, but they were inexplicably out of Guinness).

I spent some time further adapting Vlad Campos’s Map plugin for Micro.blog. My version can now support multiple maps/datasets + multiple pin colors. I built it primarily for showing current quest progress—like Jen’s Pac-12 Stadiums quest—but it could be used in a variety of ways. Will release soon!

A rustic building houses the Old Town Scottsdale Rodeo Museum, featuring a wooden exterior, a Livery Stable sign, and a colorful mural and artistic Arizona flag at the entrance.
We stopped by the Parada del Sol Rodeo Museum at Noriega Livery Stable, dedicated to Scottsdale’s long running annual rodeo, for Jen’s museum quest. We had a nice chat with Mike, who runs the place and grew up in the neighborhood; I especially enjoyed his photos of early Scottsdale from the 1950s.

We visited the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Cultural Center & Museum today for Jen’s Phoenix Museums quest. It’s much more cultural center than museum, but we enjoyed a 90+ minute conversation with the museum director, learning much more about the tribe’s history, culture, and its future.

OTD in 2017, I ran across a tag for my old college-era backpack, an absolute beast that I had absolutely no business using. I knew I had perhaps over-purchased when I saw someone donning the pack during an IMAX film about serious mountaineering. 😂
