As always, in wishing Muslims around the world all the best for #EidElFitr, I think of those who have been forced to flee and who celebrate far away from their homes.
May special blessings be bestowed on them.

I was proud to attend the launch of Kenyaβs ground breaking βShirika Planβ by President William #Ruto.
Shirika is about refugee self reliance and access to services while supporting Kenyan communities hosting #refugees.
Big thanks to you, the government and people of #Kenya, Mr President.
The retreat from aid will result in hardship and suffering for millions β and inevitably in many lives lost. And it wonβt make our world safer or more stable.

Bangladesh, UNHCR and @iom.int have launched today a US$935m programme to help Rohingya refugees and their Bangladeshi hosts in 2025.
We asked that aid cuts be avoided, as they will endanger lives.
We reaffirmed the need to create conditions for the safe, voluntary return of refugees to Myanmar.
This is my first Bluesky post.
But I am happy to be here to talk about the cause of a lifetime.
To shine a light on the experiences of those forced to flee, and of those whose exile ends.
To tell you about the work of courageous colleagues, at UNHCR and beyond.
