we also moved the main frontend instance from cf pages to cf workers, which should've fixed random blank pages caused by cloudflare-related errors. let us know if it's still happening to you, and weβll keep digging
local processing is now enabled by default on ios!
saving files from the processing queue is way faster & more comfortable than doing it via shortcuts, and you also get proper downloading progress

there are a lot more changes, such as rewritten docs and service-related improvements. we couldn't possibly make a thread that's readable enough & contained all changes, but you can read the entire changelog in cobalt: cobalt.tools/updates#11.0 (now with a better font!)
in this update, we also improved everything related to turnstile. from now on:
- the annoying popup is gone, it was replaced with a small tooltip above the input bar
- cobalt takes care of everything for you. no need to wait for turnstile to complete, just paste the link!

aside from local processing, we updated the web app a lot. everything looks better, feels better, and loads faster than ever before! we migrated parts of frontend to svelte 5, which improved rendering performance even more. it's beautiful!

saving from youtube might work once in a while, but we can't promise 100% reliability just like before. we'll keep trying, but in all honesty, both of us are exhausted and extremely demotivated π«
services other than youtube are not affected and work just like before (except for twitter, cobalt supports downloading nsfw posts again!)

we tried one more solution to fix downloading from youtube, but it doesn't scale. it'll be broken until we figure it out.
the problem is not on our side, it's youtube pushing even more restrictions than before. we did all we could to let people have free access to information.

cobalt wasn't able to save youtube videos for a few hours, but it's fixed now! less formats though, so if you don't get 4k videos, try enabling HLS in video settings

yeah, this has been a thing for a while. it means that your IP address is temporarily banned from youtube, so you have to login to view anything
