It's not a hard question: conversion "therapy" is a disproven & deceptive practice that has no place in modern medicine.

That's why last year, our members filed a brief urging SCOTUS to uphold states' bans on this harmful practice & protect young LGBTQI+ peoples' mental health.

The GOP prioritized billionaires' tax cuts, & Americans living with HIV are paying the price.

“The EEOC was created with the explicit mission of protecting American workers from discrimination—but under Trump and Chair Andrea Lucas, the Commission has abandoned its duty in order to push Trump’s radical, anti-equality, and anti-worker agenda. Andrea Lucas has spent her time leading EEOC undermining enforcement of minority workers’ rights—she’s exactly who the Commission was designed to fight back against. The Supreme Court made clear in Bostock that transgender workers are protected from discrimination; the EEOC cannot undue those protections. Overturning the Lusardi precedent is just Andrea Lucas’s latest slap in the face to every American who has faced discrimination because of their gender identity. Authorizing vigilante bathroom police doesn’t just endanger transgender people—it puts every girl and woman at risk, especially those who don’t fit Republican extremists’ idea of what women “should” look like or act.” Rep. What does this mean for trans workers? Today, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission issued a decision permitting a federal agency employer to exclude transgender employees from bathrooms that align with their gender identity--overturning a previous EEOC precedent that had held that it was a violation of Title VII for agencies to prohibit transgender employees from using restrooms consistent with their gender identity. EEOC’s decision “applies only to federal agencies subject to the E.E.O.C.’s administrative complaint process for federal employees.” This decision does not apply to private employers, nor does it bind any federal court. Importantly, all transgender employees are still protected from employment discrimination under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as confirmed by the Supreme Court’s decision in Bostock.

Today's decision by the EEOC to overturn protections for transgender federal employees is a disgrace.

This is exactly the kind of discrimination the EEOC was designed to fight, but under Trump & Chair Andrea Lucas—the EEOC has enabled more discrimination than it has ended.

People rely on their driver's licenses to meet their basic needs—like getting to work or the store—and, in Kansas, to vote.

Now, KS is stripping trans people of their accurate IDs, including driver’s licenses, in an election year.

This is dangerous & cruel voter suppression.

The Kazakh government is weaponizing its power to try and intimidate LGBTQI+ activists into silent submission.

We stand with the LGBTQI+ community in Kazakhstan. The government of Kazakhstan must follow due process & cease harassment of human rights defenders.

No one deserves to live their lives in fear of discrimination or hate because of who they are or who they love.

5 years ago, the House passed the #EqualityAct to include protections for LGBTQI+ people in federal law. Unfortunately, it was blocked in the Senate. But the fight continues! I'm committed to seeing this bill become law so that EVERY American can have a fair shot at success, no matter who they love.

The Equality Act explained: amends federal law to explicitly prohibit discrimination against LGBTQI+ people; adds new protections against sex discrimination to federal civil rights laws; and, Expands protections for minority communities in public accommodations. The Equality Act explicitly prohibits discrimination against LGBTQI+ people in: employment, housing, credit, education, federally-funded programs, public accommodations, and jury service.

5yrs ago, the House passed the #EqualityAct to prohibit discrimination against LGBTQI+ people in key areas of life, strengthen protections against sex discrimination, & expand public accommodations protections for all.

We won't stop fighting until the Equality Act becomes law!

When Trump says he "ended DEI," he really meant he ended all federal enforcement of YOUR rights.

Since taking office, agencies like the Dept of Labor and the EEOC have abandoned their mission of protecting American workers.

NEW: Federal appeals court sides with Pentagon; reinstates military HIV enlistment ban

The 4th Circuit reversed a lower court's ruling that struck down the military's ban on people with HIV enlisting.
 
HIV is treatable & servicemembers with HIV have proven they're fit to serve—it's irrational to deny those with HIV the opportunity to enlist. This is discrimination.

Our opponents are still fighting—but we're winning. Our members successfully removed riders that would've enabled discrimination against same-sex couples from EVERY funding bill that's become law.

The Trump Admin just announced they're cutting $600 MILLION in critical health funding to states the President doesn't like—impacting vital public health services including HIV prevention & care.

These cuts will have disastrous consequences for public health and MUST be undone.
