As someone with Aphantasia I fully agree with you. I would never use AI for trying to visualise things and I think it would not do a good job anyway.
Not being able to visualise images in your head does not mean you can't think about how things would be structured.
2 kobolds standing next to each other. one has pink skin and is in an airy purple wrapped fabric dress with gold trim, her pose is elegant, facing away from the figure on the right but eyeing in her direction. the other has dandelion skin and is wearing a loose red crop top, with urban splinter cargo paints with pockets and a kneepad, and big red and black hightop shoes; her hands have gloves, and she's also wearing red tinted aviator goggles on her forhead. her eyes are closed, and she is facing the camera with a hand on her hip and another gesturing in the air. she is visibly sweating a bit.
couple of bolds
This seems like such a desperate move. I hope they fucking crash and burn.
A bunch of the life siphon spirits I made for Wrath: Aeon of Ruin. I made 15 of these, but these 4 are among my faves.

Another doodle from recent doodle session. Somewhat wonky in places, but I like how it came out overall.
Quite enjoy this spread from tonights doodle session.
Yeah, any kinda horizontal value falloff like that looks cool esp if stacked like that
What's happening with the water in Tumble Pop here. This is just a shot from MAME, but this would happen on a real CRT as well.
A rabbit in overalls and a goat in pants are sitting on the ground drawing pictures. The rabbit is saying βART POSES A THREAT TO CORPORATOLRATIC SYSTEMS BECAUSE A PURPOSE OF ART IS TO REMIND THE INDIVIDUAL OF THEIR INHERENT AUTONOMY.β, the goat adds βTHEIR HUMANITY.β

Thanks. I been loving coloured pencils for a long time, but only recently been really leaning into them more, learning how to use them properly, while maintaining a style that shows the marks, since i am not a fan of super smooth work (I like how it can look, but do not enjoy doing it in general)

Finally gave my zombie an attack animation. #DragoonDrop #Pixelart #Indiedev #gamedev #animation

These are lovely. Very nice glowy looking colouring too.
Keila-Dee Radley, AKA "The Destroyer". She has a pink and black space suit, and a perfectly spherical bubble helmet that presses her afro down over her right eye, obscuring it. Her right arm is a white prosthesis. It can turn into a powerful cannon.
Thomas Radley aka "Space Rad" He wears a blue, yellow, and white space suit. His legs are notably skinnier than his upper half's beefy arms and huge hands. His helmet is tall and pill-shaped, and he has a streak of gray at his temples. A few expressions are also shown; happy, despondent, furious. He is a pioneering engineer of hardlight technology.
The Destroyer outside of her suit and without her prosthetic arm. Her hair is pulled back in a scrunchie to reveal her normally-hidden eye, which is also a prosthesis; its iris is bright pink with a cross-shaped pupil, and the sclera is blue. It has five different vision modes and can accurately measure distances to within the centimeter up to a mile away. There is noticeable scarring around her eye and shoulder.
Space Rad and The Destroyer jetpacking away together over a canyon landscape, rendered with a comic-style print texture. Space Rad is dragging his daughter through the sky and trying to chastise her, but she's too caught up in the excitement of blasting whoever's pursuing them.
Ah, here's the protagonists of a cartoon I've been fantasizing for years, for the last day of Black History Month: A father-daughter spacefaring adventurer duo.
I had way more art of them but I seem to have lost it all with the dying of my last computer and this is basically all that's left '-_-
Portraits I made pixel version of for Fixeight Exa Label.
I worked off of new concept/promotional art by Nanpei Kaneko, who also did the promo art and ingame portraits for the original arcade version. Each of the portraits is 16 colours (including the black) and are in 15bit colourdepth. Fun times.
Hey so we just announced SPRAWL zero, a new FPS that we've been working really hard on.
Inspired by classics like Bungie's Halo and Marathon, as well as Half Life 2 and anime from the era, this is our love letter to the golden years of FPS. Wishlists would rule <3

Thanks. Some of them were fairly challenging in that regard for sure. A lot of minmaxing when it came to certain ramp overlaps and such.
Seriously tho, I don't think it takes this long to get as good as I am, not even close. I just takes some serious dedication to the craft and studying a lot of good pixelart from all ages. Plenty out there. And yeah, dither works best at higher resolutions.
Character design commissions are live!!!
Mostly by having done pixelart for a long time, over 20 years of which professionally, and also having a somewhat obsessive personality when it comes to optimising things like palettes to begin with. You get good at it after a while :D
There was A LOT of pixel level cleanup in areas to translate details to the lower resolution and account for the fewer colours. Detail wise the helmet of the ninja is a good example. and the robot was quite challenging colour wise. So yeah, the colours were tweaked a lot to get the right balance.
Here is the scaled, but non colour crunched version of the original art.
The non pixel versions shown here are already reduced to the target size as well as crunched into 256 colours total by ProMotion, the software I use. The original files were of course much much bigger, done in Photoshop.

A quick mockup of a rock made from 4 rock, 3 bush, and 3 leafy bushel assets. The assets can be used in different palettes to create more depth easily. 2nd image is the parts used and their palette variants. #gamedev #pixelart
