Lukewarm take (maybe?):
we should maybe have a different word than bullying when it comes to actually powerful people doing actual harm to separate it from actual bullying and saying that itβs okay in some cases

Well thatβs good to hear, frustrating day aside
In nations where LGBTQIA+ identities are criminalized, our Queer siblings benefit most directly from mutual aid, which spares them delays, application processes, and other institutional barriers heaped on top of trauma and survival demands. This requires community showing up wherever we can.
I just got out of a call with @laziah.bsky.social (thank you again, Sophie, for accommodating our time difference and sharing with me β€οΈ) and I need to encourage everyone to rally around her and her community. I can't stress enough that this is vital for trans allyship/solidarity: gofund.me/5c7123cd8
I'm not a stronger or better person than anyone in Gaza, that's for sure, you have to conceive of what it takes to be them every day, maintaining the iron will to survive as starvation & injuries disable you in a post-apocalyptic environment where everything is ash & bombs fall.
Trans women don't have the option of explaining that they're not actually trans like cis women do when they experience this. It sucks so bad to see cis people use that as the out rather than "fuck off who cares"
I'm very tired of people implying when transphobia affects cis women that this is the worst thing and why people should care and hits them worse. Is harm to trans women not enough to y'all?
Literally just saw this again in the comments of a trans woman who posted a clip arguing against bathroom bans in her local gov. Can yall even pretend to care that they are trying to genocide us and that its worse for us. Its so clear yall see cis people as more real humans than us.
Yesterday, I asked Kristi Noemβs former number 2, whether he disagreed with Noemβs statement that Renee Good & Alex Pretti were βdomestic terrorists."
He refused to answer.
It's clear no one in this Administration knows right from wrong. He should not be representing our country.
@alsobrooks.senate.gov @vanhollen.senate.gov as your constituent i am DEMANDING you stand against this the way @aoc.bsky.social is.
Republicans are using kids as a smokescreen for what Big Tech lobbyists want: a national surveillance program to harvest our data with zero protections for people and their privacy.
We must fight this dangerous expansion of surveillance technology.
Do not be afraid to be less than polite. Do not be afraid to sound desperate. Threaten them with your vote. Tell them they wont have it if they pass these so-called βinternet safety bills.β
Say whatever it takesβjust get them to listen. Call EVERY day. I know it can feel pointless but itβs not.
the safety of journalists, activists, transgender people, gay people, immigrants, women's rights, just about everyone's rights and everyone all depend on online anonymity and stopping bills like KOSA and all age verification and online ID laws for good.
These bills are so chaotic, they can't move one step foward without stepping on the legal rake. Keep up with your calls against KIDS Act and App Store Accountability Act, but don't panic. #SaveSpeech

Oh my bad, America-centric habits are hard to shake π
But yeah I think the difference between βI am being censoredβ and βIβm allowed to say whatever I want, just not to millions of people every day with zero pushback tends to get a little buried and the platform is key to stochastic terrorism
They do in fact have the right to say what they want, technically.
But theyβre not entitled to a platform to speak it, and you can have a right and still use it in a way you shouldnβt. Having a right doesnβt give you a free pass to be so grossly cruel, irresponsible, negligent & reckless with it.
The people who tell you that the world is a cruel and unfeeling place want you to forget that youβre part of the world and capable of kindness.
The House Committee on Energy and Commerce passed the Kids Act, a mix of KOSA, Screen Act, and several other ID/facescan verification bills. There is still time before a final vote in the House, as well as a Senate version. Please use this link to call your Senators and Representatives to vote no.
Weβre glad that Kristi Noem has been fired and she should face real accountability for DHSβ rampant violence.
But Noemβs firing doesnβt suddenly solve the crisis at DHS. Swapping personnel without changing course is not accountability β itβs a spin tactic. What we really need is structural change.
Democrats may not be able to prevent Mullin's confirmation, but they can certainly turn his track record of offense and stupidity into two days of televised humiliation so spectacular that he is wounded in Trump's eyes from day 1. That is the job.
"I hope you are impressed," he said to me. "How do you like the performance? I mean, Venezuela is obvious. This might be even better. How do you like the performance?"

"How do you like the performance?"
An illegal war for the sake of spectacle and the amusement of POTUS.
βanger is real, and so is resolveβ goes pretty damn hard
Noem is out largely due to massive public activism, especially in MN, Democrats expressing increasing interest in impeachment and investigations, and resulting media coverage.
Keep pushing. These people are not invincible or immune from public opinion.
Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and itβs good sheβs gone.
But this doesnβt change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.
How about the rest of the administration? Or better yet, the Republican Party?
Tbh I think we need No Kings 4 to be RIGHT before the election so that people feel energized and hopeful
On one hand, yes loyalty shifts are important.
On the other, we cannot let the MTGs of the GOP avoid consequences long term. Any politician that supported him post-Jan 6th should not escape prosecution. This isnβt Star Wars, you canβt change your mind at the last second and be celebrated as a hero.
This goes hand in hand with the pushes for Age Verification, ID verifiation and Face Scanning being passed. All done through AI services like Persona, all with the obvious intend to create an international surveillance state.
More reason to be loud against things like KOSA and the AI gen industry.
Tbh thatβs not at all my problem with it personally.
The thing about spineless politicians is they truly have no positions. Everything they do and say is about their own power. This isn't him taking a principled stance, its him realizing he can't afford to hold an unpopular opinion. Its a good sign on public perception though.
