Track 2: Damien Geter's arrangement of the spiritual's relevance to today's events is undeniable. The Man/ICE are taking a page out of the slave catcher’s playbook and hunting down immigrants, going door to door with a list of names. As an immigrant, this is all so personal now.
"Safe Harbor" is probably my favorite. The composition is so beautiful. It's also very personal since I could relate to the material written by fellow Korean-American composer, Joe Kye. It's about his immigrant experience of leaving Korea at age six (like me) and moving here with his parents.
I think every Aerocade release is special but these two tracks on "Safe Harbor" especially hit me like a ton of bricks:
