I decided for 2026, I’m going Retro. We’re playing Quake and UT2004, and emulating all the old consoles.
This past week, I’ve picked up playing Quake and UT2004 again. I really had a hankering to go back to the ultra twitchy free-for-all style of PVP from the early to mid ‘00s.
If you search for OldUnreal, they have permission from Epic Games to preserve UT2004. There are still hundreds of servers up!
Truthfully if it wasn’t for the kernel anti-cheat, I’d probably figure out how to play it. I switched because Microslop 11 just keeps getting worse and worse, and I wanted a more pleasant desktop experience.
I’ve been replaying more retro games under Linux, and it has been awesome.
I got so worn out at League I switched to Linux so I couldn’t play it anymore lmaoooo
Yeahhhhh. There’s a technical reason for why soft blocks can’t be implemented here, but I wish they could. I’d like to drop some of the OF/JFF follow-everyone-under-the-sun accounts that follow me.
