There is a strong argument to be made that legendary PokΓ©mon are way too nerfed, for the sole reason that players should be able to capture them.
And it holds back legendaries in the game from feeling epic.

The discourse around @2xko.riotgames.com Devs wanting to make "substantial changes" to the game is really funny, because it's a direct result of them being extremely transparent in their thinking behind the scenes. I'm sure they can't provide more info, because they themselves are uncertain.

Oh man why does this @nintendousa.bsky.social game look so poorly optimized with terrible FPS?
I'm never going to buy a Zelda game if this is how poor they run.
It's really interesting. Prince of Persia lost crown has a mode dedicated for speed running. With leaderboards and everything.
There were some bugs they found that they patched because it was too exploitable for the speedrunners. But other play mechanic related bugs they kept.
The end where he turns the gun, the ringing and the shell catch is just π

A shovel salesman argues that every person needs a shovel, as it's essential for survival. He questions how one could exist without one and suggests that those without a shovel will fall behind. He advocates for Universal Basic Shovels for everyone in the future.

Fun game dev fact:
If you're holding a map of a place while standing in that place, there's always at least one point on the map that aligns perfectly with its real-world location.
This is why mini maps work.
I'll delete it if it seems I'm using that argument.

Lol saying that culture war idiots use the same argument so it's false is a fallacy.
I think there is validity in arguing that there is some calousnes in games when it comes to respecting non-western spaces in context.
Arguing that it doesn't matter is a colonial mindset.
I get your point, but I do feel there is a distinction between playing as the "bad guy" while looting as a viking vs being a "good guy" who wouldn't just roll around in a sacred space unrelated to thier goals.
It's indifference and casualness that might sting more.
Game designers, learn to adjectify, verbify, and nounify.
Your untargetable, dash-charging goblobs will be a lot easier to talk about.
Can someone explain the profability of the streaming model?
You have X users that can go up or down monthly.
A new series costs Y.
Y cost can only be justified if X goes up enough because of the series and stays up long enough for delta X * subcost > Y.
Am I missing something?
fun fact: if you draw fanart for a game within the first week of any sort of major PR event for it (announcement, demo, release etc) there is a 99% chance the entire dev team on the game knows who you are because they are doing nothing but reposting fanart in slack
I still can't believe that Grammerly can legally sell thier Gen AI tools to students, while simultaneously selling tools to teachers to detect use of Gen AI in thier students assignments.
ChatGPT can you define Conflict of Interest?
How? Like seriously. Where did that money go?
Facebook bought oculus over a decade ago for 2 billion , and changed it's name to Meta only 4 years ago.
They aren't throwing money at various studios to build VR experiences. Where is this money going??
