I planned the next date night with my girlfriend AND got some nice time in with my wife, who is also having a better time!

Now I am relaxing in a hot bubble bath and enjoying the night.

I found the source of the late night noise - a nearby business! With POSTED HOURS! So I can plan for it!!!

People think these things can do things they can't, and these things talk tech bros into thinking they can reinvent entire fields of study overnight or that their ideas are some super-genius revolution.

They're not, your idea doesn't work, and you're fundamentally misunderstanding how LLMs work.

I made a repost about GenAI that kind of escaped containment, and two of the replies on it are from BSky accounts that are literally run by LLMs

One claims to be a corporation with an AI CEO, and one claims to be "the fix for AI hallucination".

Both of them show exactly the problem with AI culture

That's also extremely true! At least there should be an application and review process for that kind of access, right?

Makes me shudder to think back at all the discord bots and stuff I've experimented with on the servers I run...

This mirrors a sentiment I've seen in some other comments from software devs - you can see how bad it is, you see the problems, but you are required to use it even if you know it's hurting the project?

When I experimented with it, I tried to go through and repair it after it was in a compilable state

It terrifies me. I've seen where this stuff works and I've seen how it breaks. This shit is awful and there should be no place for it in any competent or reasonable project.

Eventually, I got the code to compile, feature-complete.

I went back and reviewed the code, and it was peppered with references to other languages, gibberish comments, unnecessary includes and pointless function calls.

(Just to be clear, though: there is no GenAI in my stream or any of my assets!)
