As a Mennonite I work and think from pretty apriori pacifist principles, how to make things work in a non-military way full stop. But I don't think it's simplistic to think that security simply isn't found through violence or threat of violence. Conflict's caused by unnecessary scarcity.

A strong military does not make for a strong society. If you want something worth defending, defend it by investing in a stronger and more inclusive UN -- one that is able to sideline permanent members (US and Russia) for violations of international law
