There is a long history that ties together nuclear technology and global unrest. Here's a short piece I felt compelled to write this afternoon in response to ongoing global events:

Is there a better time to read and review books than summer? I don't think so - and I'm looking for reviewers for lots of titles for the Journal of Contemporary History. We now do review articles of up to 4,000 words, covering three books. These and many more are up for grabs:

Big realisation: the time I use on work tasks shouldn’t be limitless. If I’ve allocated an adequate amount of time for a task and can’t complete said task, the solution might be to do the thing less comprehensively, not to allocate way more time to it - definitely not evenings/weekends.🙃🙃

Lately I've been trying to be more honest in my work. This means asking questions instead of posturing. If you use an acronym I don't know, I'll ask what it means. If you say the name of a scholar I haven't heard of, I'll ask for further explanation. Etc. You can't know what you haven't yet learned.

On my way to the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland’s 140th birthday celebration.🎉 I’m going as my dear colleague’s plus-one (thank you Heidi!). The society funded the last year of my PhD, which was on Nordic feminist history - so perhaps I can consider myself a tiny part of their history.
