Bear in mind this is an area I still deal with dysphoria over, being poked by strangers, it's incredibly anxiety-inducing.
Also I fell last night so my back hurts even worse than usual π
So yeah, this week has been awesome π
Sigh. I'm on antibiotics. Why?
Well. 4yrs ago an abscess right in my butt cheeks exploded. I had 2 lots of antibiotics, then surgery to drain it.
After returning, bigger and badder than ever, on Wednesday, it tore itself right open.
π€¦ So, antibiotics and a referral back to the surgical team.
Reacting to Labour's devastating loss to the Green Party in Gorton and Denton, Keir Starmer claims that only Labour can unite communities. I agree. He convinced Muslims to vote for a white working class woman representing a party led by a gay Jewish man.
I really hope the Greens run someone over here in the locals. It's been a Labour lock since 1918 so a loss would be a similar shock for them.
Reform are so fucking mad right now, this is a great day π
Congrats to the Greens though. This was their first step out since Zack was voted in as leader, and that was quite the win for Hannah.
I pay even closer attention because Gorton & Denton is close to where we live.
Good job, I see the correct people are big mad while the rest of us celebrate π
Agreed. I'm never forgetting Sinners, it deserved everything.
Here's the thing nobody wants to talk about, when it comes to making peace with family members who are okay with genocide, racism, and all the rest of it.
If you can't trust these people to stand with a stranger in need of help, you can't trust them to stand with you when you need help either.

Every billionaire in the Epstein files could drop dead tomorrow and the world would not only be fine, it would actually improve. The quality of our media would improve. Our environment. Our food. Our health care. Our technology.
Vince grew up in the Wasted World, like most folk these days. The last of the long timers who remembered the old days died before he was born. His parents tried to instill a sense of... something into him. Pride. Education. Community. After their commune was ripped apart by raiders when he was 13, Vince was sent by his parents to escape via one of their tunnels. He wandered until, starving, dehydrated, close to death, he stumbled into a compound led by a preacher man. A compound full of people who took him in. A people who cared for him, brought him back to health and showed him how to be part of their community. He did well. And any moment not spent in work, he spent learning from the preacher man, Oswald. Oswald taught him from the tattered remains of a holy book. Held together by string and tape, the book was convoluted, contradictory, and clearly
both missing large chunks and made up of more than one belief system. But Oswald coached him to an understanding that rather than literal truth, he could read the holy book as lessons to apply to life. Vince was loved so much by the people that when Oswald sickened and died, they looked only to him to be their new leader. The stresses of leadership at such a young age, from those who looked for him to be just like his predecessor, quickly began to chafe and Vince started sneaking out of the compound in the early mornings, just for some time alone. He would walk the Wasteland and often return with some thought or tidbit or relic to show and discuss. His people began to respect this, and Vince, for his way of talking about what he saw, the things he found. Until the day he found the skull.
He was walking along a section of the Wasteland he hadn't explored in a while, and tripped over something sticking from the dirt. When he dug it out, it was the skull of some creature he couldn't place. Humanoid, but larger. As he turned it over, brushing dirt away, an image flashed in his mind's eye. A figure. Tall. Stretched skin over rattling bones. Fingers reaching. Bending closer. Eyes smoldering like coals. "Feed. Me." It said. Vince dropped the skull and scuttled backwards. But the vision refused to leave. "Feed. Me. Feed! Me! FEED! ME!" "F-feed you what?" Vince stammered. "Unbelievers," the voice ground out.
His head suddenly clear, Vince picked the skull back up and tucked it under one arm, heading back to the compound. In his talk that evening, the first thing he did was take the Holy Book, and burn it. At the cries of shock he smiled. "I have found God. And it isn't in any of these pages. My friends. It is The Bone Collector!" He raised the skull high in both hands, a sickly green glow sweeping the congregation. "Join us. Or be sacrificed."
Plus I got extra Karma for writing up the background of the cult leader I befriended into not sacrificing us last time - presented here if you fancy a quick read.
Another session of EZD6: Wasted World today. Very enjoyable system, it gives CuddleDad the GM and us players so much freedom to just play. I'm basically a dandy who is good at talking.
And today we got to blow up giant toads, beat up some bullies, and bring socialism to a small town π
I am open to editing all kinds of stuff from short fiction and novels to comics/graphic novels, TTRPGs, and videogames.
Comics have long been my focus and where my experience shines but I'm not close-minded.

While I've learned not to trust politicians til they do what they say they'll do, it's warming to see someone actually speaking up for us at all.
I'm agender, so the transphobes manage to simultaneously hate me and ignore my existence. We need *someone* who will help.

Ok yeah, this is fun. Side scrolling parkour, lil history lessons, and a cool cast of characters.
Tomorrow's episode of Bold Politics is so so rare in British politics: real people who are unafraid to just be themselves for an hour because they know they don't have to protect any vested interests.
It's time for a clearout of robots in Westminster.
After 18 months in power, Starmer has turned his back on the mandate pledges that granted him office, while his broken promises stack up.
