Together with Krist Vaesen, I have written some words of caution about #replication in lithic analysis. We fear that the way the issue has been taken up in #Palaeolithic #archaeology can narrow the scope of disciplinary inquiry πΊπ§ͺπ¦£

If I remember correctly, GUARD Archaeology, while still at the University (so early-mid 2000s?), excavated on the west side of Loch Lomond in advance of a golf course and leisure development and found prehistoric occupation and burial evidence ... Should be published now if I knew where to look! π€

This looks excellent! So many contributors whose work in digital Arts & Humanities I so respect. Wish I'd had access to these voices a few years ago when trying to understand my PhD 'failings' and, if that's not enough, it's open access. π

Remember that contest/marketing stunt that openai put out to derive methods for identifying archaeological sites in the amazon? I finally got around to checking out the results, and they are unsurprisingly bad. The winner and first runner up really focused on the methods, and the first was [β¦]

I came to Zotero late - post retirement! - and now swear by it. It's much more than a reference manager as it also provides access to all the associated paper and book pdfs, so think of it more as a library manager ...
Looks like this should become a great resource. Any chance of an RSS feed?
